Reviving this thread now rehearsals have started! Just noticed they are selling the Circle for opening night, so bagged myself one of the £32 tickets - green on theatremonkey so hoping it's not too badly restricted! PS theatremonkey, your site currently says this show opens 1 April, but they seem to have brought opening night forward to 21 March according to their website I've a ticket for 4th March ... curiouser and curiouser 😀 |

Gosh.... I have just checked the Nederlander Dominion Website and there is HUGE availability for this even in March. I will hold off for deals!

The Dominion is huge, and their publicity campaign doesn't really seem to have started, so I'm not surprised. Plus the pricing generally is ridiculous! The £32 slightly restricted view seats are decent enough without discount though.

Thanks for the tip about those £55 front seats. Since I've already seen the show three times on Broadway (both from mid Orchestra and Mezz seats) I'd quite like to be up front in London. Don't think I'd recommend it for a first visit though. The choreography probably loses quite a bit of impact when you can only see the cast from the knee up.

I saw it in Paris at the Chatelet. My seat was quite far back on one of the balconies. You do need to see it in "widescreen" for the big choreographic set pieces. Its a gorgeous show, I hope it takes off in London.

They have just put stalls rows A and B on sale for previews - £29.50 all seats, except 2 at the outer ends of A and B down to just £16.50 - plus booking fees £2.50 / £1.50 per ticket. Direct from the dominiontheatre.com website if you are quick... Having just had a look, unfortunately Saturdays are £35. Has anyone sat in the outermost seats? I'm kind of tempted to give them a go for £17.50 but don't want to end up with no view at all. (Naturally I have already looked at Theatremonkey.com but the first 2 rows are blacked out on his plans.) |

(Naturally I have already looked at Theatremonkey.com but the first 2 rows are blacked out on his plans.) Just updated, Dawnstar. They are a long way to the sides, but for £17.50 you can't really go wrong. Green now, from me. Thanks. I've never actually been in the Dominion so don't know how wide the auditorium is compared to the pros arch. However for that price I guess you can't go wrong. Now I just need to work out when I can fit it in... |

Scenery and lighting in the way, more than restricted view. The seats don't go out past the proscenium, they wrap around the stage front, with a massive gap between row A and the pit rail. Hopefully a dance-heavy show won't have too much scenery! |

The Dominion stage is fairly high but front row there is great as it's miles away from the stage. If I like this show on opening night I'll definitely be booking those £17.50 seats for any return visit!

Just booked to see this in May using some theatre tokens - gone for 'restricted' left-centre row B seats in the circle which seem to have barely any restrictions according to reviews. Really looking forward to it - something fresh and new to (hopefully) enjoy! Shame that it's not selling so well at the moment, but I'm sure that will pick up once it opens...

Ive never sat upstairs at the Dominion, But a question for anyone who has, If you sit on the front row, how much will the safety rail actually impede your view?

I've booked a ticket for opening night (21 March) at 7pm in the Circle Row B in the side block that I can't use any more. The Monkey considers this a good value ticket as it's only slightly restricted by the bar.
I paid £32 for it and it has a face value of £29.50. I have the PDF ticket already.
Would anyone be able to take it off my hands? Will accept £30 (or best offer) for it and can deliver instantly.

I didn't know much about this show so watched the trailer and knew all the songs! Booked the Saturday after opening (extreme side of the front row), seems a bargain.

I know there's a thread in the Musicals section, but it's the dance factor that has got me interested in this - Christopher Wheeldon directing and choreographing, and starring Robert Fairchild (New York City Ballet principal dancer) and Leanne Cope (Royal Ballet former First Artist dancer). Has there been such a large-scale dance-musical of this Gershwin era recently in the UK? It sounds like something I'd regret if I missed it.
