B*gger I'm worried about my seat now after the recent posts. I went for a balcony one but think I might regret it. Don't worry. The balcony is distant but doesn't feel as distant as many (step forward Palace Theatre) and has a decent rake but doesn't feel too steep. Obviously you aren't going to be as close as if you were in the stalls, but it's a good view for the money.

The balcony is fine as long as you clap with one hand...and cling on for dear life with the other! But what's he going to use to wave at Glenn?

Hope he's not gonna try and out-turban La Close though. It'll only end in tears as she's a formidable woman and he's got turban lovers like Burly and me in the audience. The sausage rolls will fly!

I just looked at the ENO website and it lists the evening shows at 9.30 and matinees at 4.30. I was wondering if this is the actual timing or if the site is geo-timed so that it gives me timing based on my location (that is +2 ahead of London?).

It comes up as 2.30 and 7.30 for me so may be a geo-timed thing?

Just checked. Clearly states 2.30 and 7.30 here in the UK, ali. On my ticket it's 2.30 too. Hope that helps.

What's everyone wearing turban-wise?

What's everyone wearing turban-wise? Not quite turban but I thought I'd take inspiration from Camila Batmanghelidjh. That way Michael X will be able to pick me out of the audience . . wait for it . . . with one look. That's if the 6ft banner declaring "Michael. Be My Gaylord!" doesn't grab his attention first of course.

What's everyone wearing turban-wise? It's tricky, isn't it? I'm torn between the monkey outfit I held onto after appearing briefly in Cabaret, the Herod gear I wore in Jesus Christ Superstar, or just clutching a couple of palm trees from my Copacabana days. There again if Michael's in swimwear, I could just bite the bullet and go for the Andrew Christian C-Ring number I bought in Old Compton Street last week. (I wouldn't want to upstage him...) Talking of upstaging... This is the THIRD avatar we've had from you, Burly! Beary Poppins was cute. This is downright sluttish! Whatever next?!?

To those planning to wear a turban: make sure they are loose and easily detachable. Because if you're sitting in front of me it will be ripped off, and if it doesn't come off easily I'll be just as happy to rip your whole head off ;-)

ENO's Sunset Facebook page features a picture of Patti LuPone in Norma drag with a caption that says "Patti LuPone in the original production of Sunset Boulevard."
I have a feeling that the page's admin are oblivious to the show's history.

I have a feeling that the page's admin are oblivious to the show's history. Burton on Trent's production also gives some nice ideas for what to wear to the show (or if Anthony Powell's outfits get delayed in transit, and the ENO costume dept have to improvise.)

Front Row of upper circle? Would my (6'4") legs still be restricted if I sat on an end?

^ Not if you leave them in the cloakroom. Oh, my - if there's a cloakroom, what say we all go and check numerous turbans in? *Just remembered I'm there on 1st April - April Fools Day. Must find bedazzled turban!* (Also, must get out more)

^ Not if you leave them in the cloakroom. Very end seats have even less space than those further along, if that is possible. So are they next to a wall rather than an aisle?

On a similar note, I am determined that when I see "Aladdin," I'm turning up with a roll of carpet, then demanding to know where the car park is. This would definitely be welcomed, if it was a Bill Kenwright production.

Sadly cannot make the first performance now due to personal reasons, but managed to sell my ticket to a friend. I may go to the first Monday performance however. I feel this is going to be a performance that is simply not be missed. Call me crazy, but I am expecting it to be amazing!
