Meets my expectations of not being a fully staged (with sets) show, but not a completely empty stage with people standing in front of a line of microphones, which I feared. |

Sounds like the orchestra will be in the pit too. Scaffolding, ensemble, choreography and 51 musicians all on stage would be a bit much. |

I honestly hate how this whole swim suite addition came about when they introduced it in the 2nd US tour.
The entire point of him wearing a full suit and sipping a cocktail on the pool-smack in the middle of the summer-goes to show you the absurdity of the situation and how he has been gold digging Norma and behaving rather foolishly and lavishly. It was a brilliant idea. The costume goes very well with the lyrics of the title song and with what he's saying.
The swimming trunks version is rather disturbing, be it if the singer is in good or bad shape.
At least they are bringing back the original Norma costumes.

I might be wrong as it's been a year or so since I last watched the movie but I seem to recall William holden in a swimsuit for that scene in the original movie

He does. And although the majority of the dialogue is lifted from the film script, it was a good new addition.

I know this has probably been talked about before but any advice on tickets and seats would be appreciated as never been to this theatre before really want to see sunset but have not got a huge budget  ? Did just read that although very high the balcony gives good view rather that upper circle ? Any tips on getting cheap ticket with an OK view ? ? |

No idea. But the site says that there will be seats released daily..I'd say just swing by and ask or wait until someone does.

I saved up and got seats in dress circle as when I went to Sweeney was in the balcony and it was awful. But "you gets what you pay for".
Friend told me she was looking at availability a couple of days ago and said that most of the expensive seats were gone but that there was still availability in the cheaper seats so you should be lucky if you don't want to pay a lot of money

Upper Circle: Circle above overhangs at row B, can't see surtitles from H back. No legroom in any seat for anyone over 5ft 5 except: C1 - 60% clear in front, B 1 and 51 and C56 - 100% clear. A 1 and 43 have no legroom at all. Boxes have similar views to dress circle. I've gone for C56 on the strength of having a lot of legroom!!! Looking forward to hearing/seeing the show next month! My first Sunset visit! |

The video with Betty Buckley is 1.15 hour for the first act and 1 hour for the second act. It should be around 2.30, including the interval. Erm what video is that? Looking forward to this as I had ticks to see Glenn C in it on Broadway but when we got there she was on holiday! But Betty B is currently my favourite ever Norma so interested if there is a video of her. |
