We may be forgetting the most obvious way to cover them... just give her the extended Kinky Boots at the end.
Fun fact time: I read somewhere ages ago the reason Lauren is the only one to not wear Kinky Boots is because Annaleigh sturggled with them and because she is short, they didn't look right on her and with her in that dress, it was just a whole situation. So they just cut them down do ankle boots and that look just stayed.

I've always wondered why Lauren never had the boots when everyone else does, must admit it's one of those things that bugs me far more than it ever should.

My mum absolutely LOVED it. So glad I saw Jordan Fox too who for me was a lot better than David Hunter - maybe almost on par with Killian. In fact the whose cast were just as good as the original players.
Had tears in my eyes several times so I’ve finally bought the WE cast recording (was awaiting a price drop but couldn’t wait any longer).

Just noticed that one of the new angels, Daniel Downing, has previously played an angel in the Australian production.
I wonder what made them bring him over rather than a newbie from here.

Maybe he just moved? Like, Joe Aaron Reid was in Broadway shows and when his family moved to London he started working here. Not because he was brought by producers, but because he came here |

I saw Kinky Boots for the first time this week. I enjoyed it. It was never a big draw for me, but i'm glad i saw it. I thought Jordan Fox was great as Charlie and definitely easy on the eye, but his story didn't entirely make sense to me. It felt a bit forced. The score was ok, but didn't understand what Soul Man was all about. It was a big crowd pleaser though

Spoilers for act 2 of Kinky Boots ahead (I can't work out how to do a spoiler tag whilst using the forum in mobile view).
Soul of a man is about responsibility and self doubt. Charlie is coming to terms with the responsibility he has to look after the people who rely on him (factory workers) and put their trust in him (Lola), and wishing he could be more like his dad who seemed to be a good boss based on the way everyone at the factory talks about him ('I guess I'm just a ruse in my father's shoes') See also Not My Father's Son.
The self doubt comes from Charlie not really having much of an idea about who he is or what he wants from life (when he talks about how how he and Nicola were childhood sweethearts and he followed her to London for work etc. because he didn't know what he was good at or what his calling was in life). From his perspective he's failed as a boss, as a fiance and as a friend at this point and Soul of a Man comes at a low point in his life, where he's thinking back to his dad's successes as an employer and a father (although he had his flaws).
At the point in the story where Soul of a Man comes, he's flushed away his last chance to save his dad's legacy and he's let down his employees (including Lola) and he's sort of reflecting on that and wishing he could have done better.
He's also feeling instant regret at yelling at his friends/employees and saying some pretty homophobic things to Lola, and the song could be read as referring to that too (See later in the show during Charlie's voicemail to Lola) "If being a man means being brave enough to take on the entire world then you are the only man I've ever known".)

I believe that this is the first time he will be playing his own role in a professional production, as he has only swung previously in shows! Very exciting for him! |

Gosh, you’re very rarely wrong MrB so I’m thrilled we’re getting Poppins back in town - the tour was spectacular.
Think Kinky will have a long tour life though - it’s lasted a lot longer than I expected it to! I’ll certainly try see it in town before it goes and then on tour too I would imagine!

I suppose none are available...out of his theatres, Poppins would only work in the Prince Edward and Victoria Palace (maybe the Prince of Wales at a push, but I imagine the lack of stage depth would prevent this), and he obviously wouldn’t kick out a show which was doing good box office, and which could potentially still run for long time (I’d say this is true of all three of those theatres, with Hamilton, Aladdin and The Book of Mormon). I will say this though, if Poppins does go to the Adelphi, it seems a shame that this most British Edwardian of shows will not have had the chance in two West End runs to play a British Edwardian theatre. For me, in an ideal world, the Victoria Palace would be the ideal home for the show, followed by the Palace and Shaftesbury. |

Cameron is one of the many producers of Kinky Boots so essentially he’s replacing KB with one of his own.
I’m kind of surprised he opted for Poppins rather than a newer Broadway transfer but perhaps the likes of DEH or Waitress are looking for smaller theatres as I imagine a few of the 1000-1100 seaters will be available next year like the Savoy etc
