I'm actually in London on Monday but already booked to see In the Heights. Otherwise I'd have tried for a free ticket just to see Paul Ayres as Charlie.

Dayseats on Monday - where you pay to sit, rather than queue for freebies -?- dunno how they are going to work that one out. I had an Evening Standard email promo through yesterday (Thursday), was surprised it hadn't been posted before.

Someone not aware of this promo and just queuing up for regular dayseats might be slightly surprised by the sheer number of people there...

My friend mentioned she might go down for this Monday morning. From when these kind of offers have previously been put on, any idea how early one should queue to be in the first 500? I remember I walked passed the one for The Lion King last year around 7.30am and all tickets were already gone (they were handing out wristbands so knew when they hit their limit, which I think was 1000).

Just back from tonight's.
Ok, why didn't anyone tell me how fabulous this was? I've never seen the film, not really paid much attention to it, had no idea what to expect.
I LOVED it!

There was a joyousness to it that was very infectious. A bit like Priscilla has when it's done well. Stand out bits for me were Not My Fathers Son, the finale of Act 1 with the conveyor belt.... In heels! And Lola's Hold Me In Your Heart. My first experience of Killian Donnelly, you wouldn't think that voice was going to come out of that man would you? Matt Henry also brilliant.... Has he ever done Frank in Rocky Horror? He'd be good.
The actress who plays the factory girl who falls in love with Charlie was brilliant too. Great physical comedy there.
Would Marcus Collins have been in the cast tonight? The only one I could think might be him was the drag queen who comperes the boxing match.

I really like it!!
Gonna see it again soon. My favourite musical and score in over five years.
My profile pic is a tribute. Got more appropriate boots, but they are elsewhere at the mo.

Saw this again at Sat matinee. Callum Francis on as Lola.....OMG he knocked it out of the park. Much, much better than Matt Henry. Some lovely touches and excellent comic timing. He had a fabulous rapport with Killian and came across as far more feminine, I often found Henry to be very spikey at times. It will be a while before he takes the reigns again, I think a couple of days in March and 2 weeks in May. I for one will be returning to see him. I didn't buy a program tonight as I have one somewhere from last time, but what has Callum been in before, anyone know?

Saw this for the first time yesterday evening so had no idea, until checking afterwards, whom I'd seen - but Callum Francis was absolutely amazing; I just can't imagine anyone else owning the part + dominating the stage in the same way. Seems I was lucky as he was only doing a week or two in this role.

Does anyone know what the cast was last Friday evening? I went at the last minute and loved it! I was intrigued as to who I was watching though! Blush

I'm in Watford on business tomorrow night and seriously considering a trip into London to see this. What do you think the chances are of picking up a cheap ticket before curtain?

Callum was on all last week(Jan 25-30) as Matt Henry was on holiday. You probably saw him (or Marcus Collins) but I don't think Marcus has gone on yet, and you'd know it was Marcus as he has leopard spots tattooed

And Killian is so not my cup of tea that I really need to see a different take on the role (and a different facial expression!)

Paul Ayres was Charlie when I went for free with The Standard. Never seen Killan so can't compare but Paul was great.

I remember either Matt or Callum tweeting the order and it was someone else before Marcus. Arun Blair-Mangat.

Callum was good and I have no complaints, but obviously a cover/standby or whatever they call them all. Just a couple of lines tripped over etc. But I'd be happy to watch him again!

Saw this last night and thought it was great. Think there was a cover on for Lauren but Killian and Matt were both there. Callum was an angel (not sure if he usually is; my friend thought not) but I think he really stood out - he looks so feminine! All the angels were fantastic. Marcus Collins was quite a bit shorter than the others though. It's a real feel-good show. Everyone I know who's seen it has loved it (so far) and they have quite different theatre tastes.

Saw the matinee today. Had picked date when main cast members due to be present and no one disappointed on the day. Really enjoyed the show on so many different levels. The choreography, music, singing, humour and human touch all came through. Matt Henry stood out for me. Despite his music career side being managed by a friend I had never heard him before but thought he had a great soulful voice, and played the role of Lola perfectly. Also really enjoyed Amy Lennox as Lauren, especially her rendition of Charlie. Might have to go again.
Slight aside, amazed how many transvestites were in the audience. Clearly seen as a great opportunity to get that best frock on and come out and party.
