Thanks. What about the notoriously fastidious Cam Mack? (I didn't realise until yesterday that he's one of the many, many producers of Kinky Boots.)
I'm going outside now to get some rays, and leave everyone in peace.
And for the record, I like a joke as much as the next man, but I also like to get full value for my Yorkshire pound!

I don't know the specifics of Cam Mac's attitude, other than he visits shows fairly often to check in. However he may well be in the 'turn a blind eye' for one show camp. But I've no idea!
Anyway I've never noticed anything overt at a muck up matinee, so I think you'll get value for money!

Google has just informed me that
a) there is Wicked fanfic about muck up matinees b) someone on BWW once thought Idina in the red tracksuit (after her injury just before the last show) was 'muck up matinee'
thank you google.

What a brilliant night it was tonight. A VERY enthusiastic audience- very nearly lifted off the roof after 'Hold me in your heart'. Think it's safe to say there were plenty of tears both on stage and in the audience judging by those around me.

Okay, next silly question. Are the pranks obvious to the paying public, or are they more in-jokes that will only be spotted by fangirls who have seen the show numerous times? Just imagine you're a tourist in London for the first time, and you've paid £95 for a premium ticket because you think that the West End is the pinnacle of the art form. I think its more in jokes and small jokes that the fangirls will notice Such as ensemble members maybe standing in a different position from normal or props being in a slightly different position, or changing costumes with another ensemble member without telling the others. I don't think they would do too much of significance sinde as you said, people pay £95 sometimes

Oh gosh, tonight was splendid, Matt Henry was clearly very moved, gave a performance that will stay in my.memory for a very long time. Found myself openly weeping at the powerful performance. After walking through Trafalgar Square on Pride -just an incredibly special evening.

Re-muck up matinee I've always assumed it's because the 'proper last one' is respected as the last outing as a character for an actor and they should be allowed to have that and/or that more family/friends/industry types are in for the very last so they want that to be as good as can be. Hope Matt Henry and co have an utterly fabulous last day at the factory...! So they pull out all the stops to make a perfect show for friends, family and industry but have less respect for the folk unfortunate enough to have booked a top price seat on the show before 😳 I like a laugh as much as the next person but if that was the only time I could travel/afford to see a show then I would expect it to resemble the show friends, family and industry were seeing!

You might get a couple of extra laughs here and there from the fanboys and girls but any changes made would scarcely alter the audience experience as a whole

Very sad to see Matt go. I loved his performance and i love that he proved me wrong. I knew of him from The Voice so when he was cast i was like...oh right. Didn't expect and and wasn't sure he was up to it, just based on The Voice. When i went to see the show instantly i was proved wrong and was just so perfect for the role and gave such a great performance. He really deserved the Olivier. I agree that the new Lola has a lot to live up to, not sure about him just based on the West End Live clip but maybe he will do a Matt and he'll surprise me!
I did think about coming to see Matt's last show and i did want to and kind of regret not, but given it was Pride weekend i just didn't want to deal with how manic London would be and probably how much the hotels would be this weekend!!

I ended up going to the matinee yesterday, and Hold Me in Your Heart just about stopped the show then, too. Matt was visibly emotional at that point so I'm not surprised there was crying involved in the evening.
And yes, for anyone who was worried, the muck ups were subtle. There may well have been more that I didn't catch, since I haven't seen the show in a while, but if I missed them then they can't have been that intrusive either.

I concur with the posters above - an incredible night in the theatre last night for Matt's last performance as Lola. The entire cast were on fire and blew the roof off the theatre.
I do wonder if Matt will return to the role of Lola somewhere in the world at some time. These roles only come round once in lifetime. He will certainly be missed. The new Lola has indeed, got big boots to fill. I have only seen his performance on video at WEL and was not impressed although it is unfair to judge a performance at gigs such as this. It will be interesting to hear views from people who will see both.

Matt Henry was just sensational in this show. We saw it on a Saturday night back in October 2015 and it was one of the biggest buzzes I've ever had in a theatre. We absolutely loved it! A real triumph for him to keep up that level of performance for such a long period.

So glad I made the effort, special night, even the young Charlies and Lolas were in tears. I can't remember an atmosphere like it, sensational!

I caught Saturdays matinee performance of Kinky Boots, it wasn't intended but due to change of plan had Saturday afternoon free with some family who were staying. We got some great dress circle seats from TKTS at a good price. I remember reading that it was Matt Henry's last day so I was looking forward to seeing the show again for the third time. They show was amazing as ever and my family loved it. Nice touches too as it was Pride with the flags and Pride Kinky Boots t shirt at the end. Matt was sensational and got huge ovation with the 11 O'clock number. Everyone in the dress was on their feet at the end.
The only sad thing was how many empty seats there were. I don't know what it was like in the stalls but there were whole rows of empty seats in the dress circle, probably only about 2/3 full.

We were probably pretty close together, given I also picked up my dress circle seat from TKTS not long before the show. I was in C16 (well, officially, I moved over one for a bit more legroom with no one in the seats beside me).

I would be with Cameron Mac if anyone did any overt muck up matinee business in one of my shows. In the curtain call perhaps, but not during the show. There's the legend of the cabbage in the coffin in EP's last matinee of Evita.

Strange question but do you go to shows at the menier?

I do not wish to be so objectifying, but well I am going to be.
Jordan Fox who plays Harry now has the most mesmerizing bottom I have seen in my life. It is truly magical and worth the ticket price alone. There I said it

Wow the bottom must really be making an impact. I was meant to see 42nd st tonight but won the TodayTix lottery so I went to this instead. To be honest I think he is well aware of his bottom. His trousers and joggers seem 2 sizes too small, and I noticed him sticking it out unnaturally at times. Still I am not complaining

Saw the matinee on Saturday; both the cast and audience seemed so energised. A real fun-filled atmosphere. Simon-Anthony was a great Lola; more butch than Matt but that works for the boxing element. You will laugh at his delivery of some lines compared to Matt. He is particularly excellent at his impersonations of Charlie and other characters, capturing their original delivery of a line so well that when he mocks them it is pure gold. The sadder moments are also done well and he played excellently against David Hunter. What a fab pairing. Verity Rusworth as Lauren is sadly the weakest I have seen. Her singing is top notch but she has not found the wackiness required to fully convince; when she does it is only briefly then back to being Verity. I am sure this will develop in time. She also coped really well when the blonde wig went haywire in The History of Wrong Guys and was caught in her mouth for most of the song. Some great additions to the ensemble too; Jane Milligan particularly hilarious. Met Simon, David and Verity at the stage door. All spent time chatting to fans and signing/having selfies. Already making plans to see the show next year for my fifth time.
