I know the Lauren casting isn't the big news, but I LOVE Verity Rushworth. (this is where once again I have to confess my dark secret of watching Emmerdale isn't it?). Also glad she's getting another crack at a bigger stage role as she had to pull out of Breakfast at Tiffanys whne she got pregnant. Also I remember her tweeting Killian waaaay back early in the run saying how much she loved the show, so obviously she decided she really really liked it! Verity's husband is the Associate Director at Kinky Boots. Oh I had no idea! Ah well my point about liking her still stands if nowt else  |

There's only aisle end safety rails, and rails in front of a couple of seats that have nothing else in front of them for, well, safety. You should be fine for that. The only real problem is aisle end seats in the front section first few rows do lose a fair bit of stage due to the angle of the circle itself. Great thanks all for the advice. I've only ever got lottery tickets before ... and sadly most good seats out of my price range so read all reviews on theatre monkey and googled pics from seats etc so k did seem pretty good .... can't wait be nice to see the show from further back too will look out for you all on the 8 th |

Eh, I do think it's understandable that colourblind casting only works one way. There's context to all of this. Colour blind casting only works one way and we all know it. As someone mentioned before there was uproar when Jonathan Pryce was the Engineer in Siagon. Cameron threatened to pull the entire show! |

Couldn't find a Broadway thread for this show so I thought I'd post this here...
Not normally a stunt casting fan but this one piqued my interest as I'm a Panic! fan anyway. Sounds pretty good to me tbh. I'll be keeping an eye on reviews for sure...

Finally saw this on Wednesday, didn't win their lottery but got offered a £28 ticket, which was a decent price for mid stalls so I took it. I knew very little about this other than the basic plot (shoe factory makes drag shoes) and hadn't heard any music from it, so went in pretty blind. I adored it! it's a great feel good show with some lovely 'messages' about friendship. Of course it's really fun and Matt Henry and the Angels are fab-u-lous but also it's such a heartfelt performance, all the praise is deserved. Paul Ayers was on as Charlie, and he was excellent, really sweet and unassuming in the role (in a good way) and also I know David Hunter is more 'classically' handsome, but damn if I didn't fall in love with Paul- much more my type (I know this isn't serious theatrical commentary but it was important at the time ) Loved the music- there's some real gems in there, and I'll be listening to the cast recording much of this weekend I think! and the ensemble in this are a great bunch of actors too. |

Loved the music- there's some real gems in there, and I'll be listening to the cast recording much of this weekend I think! and the ensemble in this are a great bunch of actors too. The Broadway cast recording is a real world tour of accents! Beware! |

Still some lovely singing, and I've been alternating with the Live West End recording. |

I really really like Stark Sands as Charlie on the cast album, and I think I prefer the Broadway recording over the London one overall. He's got a really electric quality to his voice which I love.
David Hunter is my favourite though, judging solely on vocal performance, based on who I've seen / heard.
On a slightly related note, here's a full version of Brendon Urie (Panic! At The Disco) singing Soul Of A Man btw, if anyone's interested. He's just taken over from Killian on Broadway.

Speaking of Brendon (I like his voice too, hope his acting is decent!) the pictures of the stage door were CRAZY on his opening night...I'm not up on 'cool' bands but I guess they've got quite a strong fanbase!

Interesting video here. Explains that the Broadway cast were directed to speak with English accents, but sing in american. Seems quite a strange choice to me

Just heard a few audios and he appears to be really struggling with the score as it's got later in the week. Don't usually post links to audios, but the "What else could I do" and "Grouuuunnndd" in this really don't fit the mood of the song in my opinion |

And it would be criminal to see it for the first time and not see Mr Henry, its a stellar performance, possibly one of the best on the West End of the past few years, he is just sensational.
