"Dear Evan Hansen is reportedly to open in London’s West End in 2018." I'd take it with a pinch of salt, personally.

I swear Cameron Mackintosh was linked to this transfer at one point I think I read that he had seen it. Would fit nicely into one of his smaller venues (Coward/Gielgud)

I'd really like to see this happen. I think if they market it right it could work well.

Before Mormon came was there a massive hype in the UK? As in some but not massive interest in Dear Evan Hansen in the UK at the moment may not be problematic.

I would love to have this come over. I can't stop listening to the cast recording!

Upon seeing the title of this thread i suddenly got my hopes up. Upon reading, it appears that it's based on an unofficial website with very little details. Perhaps this should merge into the current one in International until we have confirmed news, to save more people believing this as truth?

I listened to the cast recording and found it incredibly bland musically. Another one stuck in that pop-lite template that has hung around Broadway since Rent.

*cue Liam Doyle phoning agent* Happy to champion Mr Doyle for anything appropriate but I don't think he's awkward enough for this. I'd rather some fantastic graduate made a name for themself here.

I must say, Liam Doyle was great singing You Will Be Found at Musical Marathon, so wouldn't be angry about him getting it!

The soundtrack was quite good I thought, I don't usually stick around with these sorts of shows but I've re-listened quite a lot. And the audience/critical response on Broadway has been pretty incredible. It's a bit Next To Normal though in a couple of ways and that means it will NEVER EVER APPEAR IN THE WEST END

Great if it's true! listened to the recording a couple of times and liked it, still I'd rather see Next to normal in the West End first but at this point I guess it's not gonna happen..

Call me cynical. But funny how the major musical theatre newspapers or commentators don't have this 'scoop' This is designed to get people to sign up to their newsletter for all the 'updates' Click bait

I suspect that we'll see it sooner rather than later, mostly because of how melodic and accessible it is. The same could never be said of 'Next To Normal'. I think that musically it's positioned more alongside 'Spring Awakening' & 'Bare' thereby touching the youth zeitgeist alongside MT circles.

I too think that article is so sketchy to be taken with anything more than a pinch of salt. Still, I'm sure it'll happen sooner or later.
