What a crap review haha. Literally all it says is Unchained Melody is the only song you'll know, you'll cry, Oda Mae is the standout. 😂😂

Although it does look like the cast can sing..... Unlike a previous version!!

Rebekah and Niall look like they’ll be significantly better than the previous stars. If it’s the same cheap, tired production as last time, maybe a good cast will help make it better?

Same set and production by the looks of things. The curtain is the same anyway.

Oooo damn. I didn't see the last UK Tour, I last saw it in the West End, and it looks so static and disappointing! Where is the set?!

Is it just me who doesn't think it looks that bad? From what I can tell this is just a scene of an office and an apartment so it's not supposed to be anything that dynamic. The editing on that video is terrible though!

I saw the tour that dare not speak it’s name and the set is fine. Put it this way, it’s about 100 times better than Heathers. However anyone expecting the techno-fest of the original is destined for disappointment.

Reading that ‘best and worst’ thread the other day made me realise this is still the worst production of any show I’ve ever seen. Even if they cast Whoopi herself in this next incarnation you couldn’t pay me to sit through this again.
I can’t imagine there will be many return visitors that saw the previous tour?

Some of the great unwashed liked it... I saw tweets. 😂

I've seen a couple more clips and the set does indeed look very amateur. Also the lighting seems to be all over the place!

I think I’ll rely on the Festival Theatre’s £10 student ticket scheme for this, considering it would cost from £27.50 otherwise which doesn’t really seem worth it for this production.

I'm seeing this tonight. I'll let you know how terrible it is later.

I'm seeing this tonight. I'll let you know how terrible it is later. I've bought a ticket to see this in Brighton next month, and I'm worried now! I missed everything about the previous tour, I've only recently started going to the theatre on a more regular basis!

At the interval and so far it's a vast improvement on the Sarah Harding tour 😂

At the interval and so far it's a vast improvement on the Sarah Harding tour 😂 Any production without Sarah Harding's "singing" is already a vast improvement.

Well I enjoyed it. I'm probably easier to please than some here but the set was okay for me (although, having read comments here I did have to laugh when in the first scene Molly closed the door and something fell off!).
The main downside is there are pretty much no special effects, which I can imagine if you saw then original is very disappointing.
Niall Sheehy as Sam was probably the stand out for me, Rebekah Lowings has a lovely voice but I wasn't sure of her acting choices at times, although maybe it was direction and not her. Having watched, um, two bootlegs (the shame) I found others give a more emotional portal of grief.
Which leads me to my biggest criticism. The way it was directed at times lost some of the more comedic and emotional moments. They cut and changed some lines of the songs. "I just wanted to hold on somehow, look at me now". CUT!! Why?! Still I did cry about four times, haha.
Hope this makes sense, writing on a shaky train on the way home. Glad I managed to catch it anyway and I hope it gets good reviews.

I too was in attendance tonight, I saw this with Siobian Dillon & Mark Evans on the West-End, haven’t seen it since then (but with the cast album a staple for me ever since) so yes having seen it with the projections & all the theatre tricks in the original than yes it’s very scaled down but that would be to complex & expensive to tour so you have to take that in consideration & the set was fine (yes I noticed the door handle fall off at the start!) but I did definitely miss the subway scene with all the wire work (although I’m not a fan of that number) which is very scaled down but some of the theatre tricks remained & they worked.
I did forgot how corny the book can be at times & sometimes having to mimic film beats which land (and don’t in some places)it can be at times but yes Niall was the highlight for me (not just because of that lovely hairy chest we get to see within the first 5 mins!!). He does have such a great voice and I always enjoy his performances.
The replacement of ‘Ball of Wax’ works so much better (if hardly a memorable number) & I’m glad they got rid of all the ensemble being part of the song, it really took the emotional beat of ‘Sam’ just being shot so this Broadway improvement was a win for me.
I’m still not sure why they had to alter ‘Life turns on a Dime’ though, yes the majority & stucture is still pretty much there but was a strong number originally and seem to get changed to bring back in ‘Here Right Now’ into this moment.
It’s not a perfect musical but it’s enjoyable & entertaining fair, lots of praise for it around me at interval & lively curtain call!
Enjoyed!!
