We're never going to get reviews of this that aren't written on Twitter or somebody's Facebook are we?!
Is anyone else here actually going to see it and give us a verdict?

I'm going next month when it's in Manchester. Booked the tickets long before the cast was announced. Can't say I'm particularly excited - more worried!

Can't say I'm particularly excited - more worried! Look, if she's on, she's on, there's nothing much you can do about it. It's nowhere near as bad a production overall, anyway, it really isn't. If I were to give it a star rating, it'd get 3, as there are some excellent performances. Good to hear. I'm going to attempt to go in with an open mind and come out with my own opinions. It's another month and a half down the line yet so they might be a bit more experienced at it by then perhaps!! At the end of the day it's a night out at the theatre and that's always a positive!

1* from me. I'm afraid some good ensemble performances couldn't save this for me. 2.5 hours of feeling uncomfortable and tense because of performances is an epic waste of my money. I am trying to think if two great leads could save this, and I think they could make it good, but the production is still bad. I do hope it's improved since I saw it. I want to get rid of my ticket for Nottingham but they won't accept returns/refunds.

I am tempted to go and see in Sunderland if there are any special offers about? A kind of morbid curiosity!

There's a 2 for 1 on opening night for ATG Theatre Card holders (the discount on 2 band A tickets would cover the cost of a card), but other than that there doesn't seem to be any special offers currently unfortunately.

I saw the original tour of this and the set, design, illusions and special effects were incredible.
Can anyone shed any light on what features or doesn't as the case may be? Particularly illusion, effects wise...

Particularly illusion, effects wise... The special effects and illusions entail deceased characters being dragged off stage, in full view of the audience, by their ankles apparently. Or, just getting up and walking off stage themselves (perhaps unable to tolerate Sarah Harding's wailing any longer).

Matt Willis's tattoos were on full view in Wicked during his stint as Fiyero. Ramin is covered with them, and it does make me wonder how this might affect future roles, where they can't be covered by costumes and might not fit in with the time period of this hypothetical show. In the novel that Wicked is based on, Fiyero is covered from head to foot in diamond patterned tattoos, so i am guessing Matt Willis is the nearest they have ever got to visually portraying the book version of him on stage

Apparently they did try the tattoos on Fiyero in early previews, but from a distance he just looked grubby, so they nixed it pretty quickly.

Also, isn't Fiyero supposed to be dark skinned in the book as well?

Particularly illusion, effects wise... The digital screens from original tour? No. Walking through a door? No. Letter opening on its own? No. Body swap near the end? No. hand going through objects? No. However you do get sets made from something barely thicker than paper that wobble around. And items floating between peoples hands on wires. And people being dragged off by visible people. And just a red light popped on for "bad" deaths. And Sam walking to the back of the stage at the end and just stood looking at the back for a bit. And Oda Mae just standing to the side when Sam is supposed to be using her body. And body replacements for dead characters done ultra slowly. And a moving car being a light shone on from side of the stage. All of that with some incredibly poor lead performances. What more could you ask for?

Interview with Sarah, including her discussing her voice issues recently. And a glimpse at that horrible set. And the little glimpses, it don't look good.

The less said about Alex Beresford, the better.

I personally didn't even think the set looked that bad from those glimpses. From all he negative responses, I was expecting it to look much worse!

She talks about "the acting side of things" as if she is completely disconnected from it.
You're on a stage in a musical dear, you can't shy away from "the acting side of things". It's not a dirty secret.

Bring some clay too, they seem to have forgotten to order any.
They managed to remember for the promotional posters though...

She should never have been cast in this by the sound of things, BUT she's taken the criticism and she's clearly trying so good on her for that. She's been put in a rubbish position and BKP really need to take responsibility for this. Also, the set doesn't look as bad as people have said. Standard cheap Kenwright yes, but much in line with his other stuff.
