Saw this in Brighton I like it when Joe gets his nice golden cloak, he became very swishy! I don't know if it was just matinee fatigue but the guy playing Pharaoh was awful, looked bored out of his skull. He shud have pulled a sickie and let one of the other cast have a go. Was probably at that same matinee. My mum who I took along as a treat commented that Joe looked a bit too podgy for a Joseph Yeah we thought that. At least he looked as though he was pleased to be there. Never been a fan of him b4 but he's gone up in my estimation

I'm undecided about seeing this, Is it the same old Kenwright tour or is there anything new?

Seemed to me same old same old. Cut out the repeats of songs and it would last half an hour.
Am enjoyable enough way to spend an evening though.
There have been many worse Joseph's over the years. I saw Keith Jack in panto once as Prince Charming. Should have been Prince Charmless. It was pretty woeful.

I don't know if it was just matinee fatigue but the guy playing Pharaoh was awful, looked bored out of his skull. He shud have pulled a sickie and let one of the other cast have a go. I don't think they have enough cast members to let someone else on. The last time I saw it they only had 1 male swing. When the main Joseph wasn't on, one of the brothers moved up to play him. The swing covered his track. Pharaoh was off sick so one of the brothers doubled up. Another brother then went off sick in act 2. When they were singing "We are just eleven brothers, good men and true" they started to look rather shifty, as they were down to 9. When Pharaoh was checking for the golden cup and the brothers ran forward one at a time, two ran around twice... I've seen the handmaidens go on wearing a beard a few times too!

Did anyone get a brochure from this tour? The one I got only has pictures from previous productions and no pictures of Joe.

There's a Cast Recording coming out. I hope it's good because Joe's version Close Every Door To Me was fantastic live. Didn't love all the changes but it will be good to hear some of it again.

It's also on his website but it has very expensive delivery. It's also showing on Amazon for release on the 20th of February.

Yeah I saw it last year and certainly didn't love it at all. I did love his version of Close Every Door To Me so maybe I'll be able to download just that song at some point.

I thought slavery was over? As it's a biblical show - clearly not!

The CD arrived today. Haven't been able to listen to it all. Some of the backing music sounds very cheap, but Joe sounds great. It's on iTunes too.

10 per week - Tuesday 7.30, Wed/Thu 2.30/7.30, Fri 5/8, Sat 2/5/8 Jesus, that's one hell of a schedule! Wait, how long is the show?! They only have like half an hour between shows on Saturdays?!

Annoyingly the CD has no details that I can see about who's singing (apart from Joe).

I'll have a look, thanks, but I don't think it's right that they're not listed.

I'll have a look, thanks, but I don't think it's right that they're not listed. Totally agree, I think it's really bad for a cast recording to not credit the performers and tell the listener who they are listening to. Assume in this case it's to not make it obvious that it's a re-release of an old recording. I think I have it. Narrator is Abigail Jaye and Joseph was Craig - Ryan Ryder - Chalmers.

Thanks for that, I was going to ask who the Narrator was. Can't find much info online. Don't suppose anyone knows who played the other main parts on the 2009 recording?!
Good grief. Is that his alter-ego?! Who knew.

Is that his alter-ego?! Who knew. Oh yes. NSFW just in case anyone googles it! An interesting story. Turns out the pay's much better than a Kenwright tour! Who knew.... Anyway.... Jacob - Henry Metcalf Pharaoh - Simon Bowman (assume not the Saigon/Les Mis one) Reuben - Trevor Jary Butler - Stephen McCarthy Baker - Harry Morrison

Amazing thank you. The most shocking thing when I googled him was that he's straight!
And yes, anyone under eighteen or at work should definitely not Google his alias!!!!
