They never kept seats aside as dayseats/lotto, they just sold whatever they had available so I fully see why they’ve stopped it. The seats are selling at full price, there’s no need for them to discount. If they had specific seats that they kept aside as dayseats but decided to sell them at full price without giving anyone notice there wouldn’t be dayseats available then I could understand people getting annoyed by it more

Agreed. We all love a bargain, but commercial theatre has to make profit and run like a business.
School of Rock’s time had definitely come. It had a good run but demand had really dwindled of late. It’s completely normal for longer runners to get a surge of interest when they announce closing and therefore stop discounting. It doesn’t mean stopping the run was a mistake.

Saw this for the final time this afternoon - I am so glad they brought David Fynn back. He is the best Dewey the London production has had IMO, with Stephen Leask a close second. David really was incredibly funny this afternoon, and sang really well - possibly even better than his first run in the show 3 years ago.

Is there any point asking at the theatre for any last minute discounted tickets? A friend and I were planning on getting last minute tickets Wednesday evening, but if there is no chance we'll look to book ahead on a date with more availability. I was aiming to get to the theatre around 6pm.
There are over 100 tickets left for Wednesday currently...

The remaining tickets for the final show have been released for sale. Mainly premiums but also a fair few £75 behind them as well, all central though

Is there any point asking at the theatre for any last minute discounted tickets? Keep an eye for "dynamic pricing" online at the website. Beyond that, people on here do try at other shows - asking the very last moment before it starts. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. School of Rock has usually been good for this in the past so we might chance it and if we can't then go out to dinner and book for next week instead.

I’m guessing the cheaper ones all went to families of the cast etc... which is fair enough but I can’t justify going for the prices that are left. My last show was nearly perfect though. I hope they do something special for the last one!

All the kids who’ve been in previous casts have been invited back to perform at the end of the show, no idea what or how they’re planning on doing it though

Got to the theatre around 6.15 last night, but no luck. Cheapest was £70.
The TKTS booth does have discounted tickets, but by the time we got there all they had left was single seats for £60.
We went out for dinner instead and have booked £35 seats for next week.

Superb Friday night with final performances for the group of kids that were on - emotional and off the scale when sat in the front row. Well done to all - what a night!

Enjoyable final show yesterday. All the kids back to sing!
Andrew Lloyd Webber said the show will be returning to the West End following the upcoming tour.

He said they hope to return to the west end one day. So might be a decade or so but there is hope! He said that at the last night of Starlight Express in 2002. Seems to be a line trotted out to a hugely appreciative and enthusiastic last night audience!

Be interesting to see how this works for the tour! Surely they will need 3 sets of kids travelling with them as would be impossible to find and rehearse different ones in each City. Which would mean them missing school/somehow being schooled en route.
I did think this would be logisitically very hard to tour so good luck to them making the effort to do so :-)

They won’t cast in each city.

I remember when the Nativity tour did the rounds they cast locally for one team but the other team was the touring cast. I think the touring kids did the Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, then the local kids did the Friday, Saturday and Sunday. At least that's how they did it in my venue anyway.

So bored of these producers trotting out the ‘before returning to the West End’ line.
Not
Going
To
Happen.
New musicals struggle enough to get a west end theatre, let alone shows that have closed after playing to half empty houses.

Front row of the stalls £13 at the Palace Theatre in Manchester. That will do nicely!
