Dates in April are filled with tons of tickets so not sure why it would be inferred that it’s closing? They arnt, you just have to compare to any performance before 1st March to see the inconsistencies x Oh yes - I see what you mean...thanks for clarifying...very interesting. If it’s going to close though, why put any tickets on sale that they will just have to refund?

Presumably because if it’s not on sale at all people will know it’s closing, and they’re not ready to announce yet.

Wonder if I should catch it before it closes. I see every ALW show and this is one I haven't got around to. I don't think I'll hate it, but not sure I'll love it. If I can get an absolute bargain (good seat) then I'll go! I've seen this twice and really enjoyed it. In my opinion it is such a different style to his shows, that I don't think I would have realised it was one an ALW unless I already knew! With the songs from the film mixed in with the original songs it has a very different style of music!

If I can get an absolute bargain (good seat) then I'll go! If you like the film, you should like the show, so I would start there if you haven't seen the film before. They use a lot of the same music from the film, with lots more added, which is one of the main reasons I like it. You can easily get a very good £20/£25 seat from the box office on the day, but the theatre isn't huge so I don't think you can go wrong wherever you are sat. I've never got around to seeing the film - thanks for the recommendation

Closing March 2020 according to rumours on Twitter. It's actually my rumour lol If you try to book after 1st March, there's only a very limited number of tickets available at 75quid, it's a bit of tell-tell sign. I've had people tell me it's definitely closing aswell. theatrefan.co.uk/rumour-school-of-rock-to-close/Oh would you look at that lol x

Why does it have to close so early compared to the Cinderella opening night? I’m up for dear Evan Hansen on the 29th of feb, not sure if I can justify coming back the next day to add to my closing night collection

Wonder if something will go in for the summer. That’s a long break otherwise.

Perfect timing now Chichester production of Oklahoma! As a filler! For limited summer season Would fit the venue perfectly no? Or even the rumoured boyfriend transfer after Toronto! It’s definitely a musical theatre building rather than playhouse minus warhorse

Baz said to someone on Twitter there won't be anything between SoR and Cinderella as the theatre is being refurbished.
As for SoR closing, I enjoyed it but can't say I'm surprised it's closing. I imagine it will do well on tour though.

It’s a really nice show. I don’t know why some people are a bit sniffy about it.
I hope the kiddie wranglers are going to be well paid on that tour. Not for all the tea in China would I take that on!

SoR is a great show. Considering the creative team behind it I couldn't believe how genuinely funny it was and how well ALW suited the material, watching the kids play live is utterly exhilarating and for my money it's a contender for one of the best male leads ever written.

Sad to see this close but it'd had a good respectable run. Will definitely go see it on tour next year, see how well it works on the road

I've just booked for my 9th and possibly final visit next Sunday (£75 down to £40 in the new year sale and looking though Theatre Monkey it looks like my seat used to be premium at £99+!)
The date isn't perfect but I still want to be at the closing night (afternoon). Does anyone know why it is off sale? Is it really sold out? I have never not been able to get a closing night ticket when I wanted one

Am loath to try again.... But would like to see him. Did the alternate ever have an official schedule?

Noel is in Wales, so I presume he's left already - seems to be understudies until David comes in. Tonight we had Alex Tomkins.
