There have been many reviews since the show started again in January, and several have commented that the show seems to have revitalised, like the attached one.
Very positive reviews all round.
I will see for myself next Friday.

Do ATG ever discount closer to the performances/if you go into the box office? There are loads of seats available at Wimbledon but really high prices.

Do ATG ever discount closer to the performances/if you go into the box office? There are loads of seats available at Wimbledon but really high prices. They don't tend to do, unfortunately. There is the usual £5 off for Theatrecard holders, plus various discounts for under 25s and pensioners. Otherwise, the Upper Circle is selling very well on the performances I've checked, but not the other areas. That's also the only place with price promise seats, but I imagine it's booked up by school parties. From previous experience, that won't be the most pleasant place to sit.

Thanks very much. That is a shame but not unexpected! I don't think my ATG card even does the £5 off - is that for the plus level? My prices when I login are the same as the non-theatre card prices which is odd. We're in Wimbledon on Saturday anyway so might pop into the box office to see whether there's anything left if we have time.

Bit confused by something, I see this is scheduled to be at Peterborough for a weekend the end of March, but looking on the official Blood Brothers tour website and ATG, the earliest dates available for the tour are mid August. Are there two different touring versions and the Peterborough show is a different version?

The show's official site is Kenwright.com. on there it says the show is playing in Peterborough late March to early April.

Are there two different touring versions and the Peterborough show is a different version? The website is usually well out of date - those august dates are for last year

There is something charmingly antiquated about Kenwright's whole operation, whether it's working for him for trying to buy a ticket everything is dated in a rather sweet way.

Are there two different touring versions and the Peterborough show is a different version? The official site is not active anymore, neither is the official Facebook-page, and the official Twitter hasn't tweeted for a while. All the dates for this Spring Tour are on Kenwright's site, but I'm admin on an unofficial Facebook-group, and our calendar is usually well ahead of Kenwright-announcements. Here's the link, and look under Events- I already added a few for the Autumn Tour. www.facebook.com/groups/393979660775027/?ref=share

Manchester is in for a treat - understudy Mickey Josh Capper, who has played Mickey all week so far, is on as Eddie tonight!
His very first time as Eddie, and a rare occurrence for the show.

I love how theatre companies come together for situations like this. I wait for the day a show I'm seeing has #notacover on @westendcovers. It is reminding me I need to get back to this show!

Was in the audience last night for my 30-somethingth time of seeing it. It's still my favourite and a pleasure to watch Blood Brothers history being made. It was the first time an actor had played Mickey and then Eddie on consecutive nights. Josh Capper did a great job, you couldn't tell he'd only had 2 hours rehearsal.
Niki Evans is a great Mrs J, vocally one of the best I've seen. I've really warmed to Robbie Scotcher as the narrator as well. Sean Jones is still at his best after all these years of playing Mickey and kudos to the other actors returning to the show after many years.
I've not seen the show since 2016 and it's in great shape. I'm pleased they've got rid of the echoes at the end of Madman, I thought it worked well.
Another funny moment last night: a cork popped with perfect timing as Mickey first approaches Linda early in Act 2. It had the audience and cast in stitches.
However, I've got to say, the audience were appalling last night. Numerous disruptions throughout, and hardly anyone wearing masks.

I'm convinced audience standards have gone down significantly since Covid.
Are there many examples of actors playing both Eddie and Mickey? In slightly more planned circumstances, I mean!

Not that I'm aware of. There was one instance in Derby a few years ago where the understudy Mickey fell ill during the first act on Saturday matinee, actual Mickey was already off ill, and understudy Eddie came on as Mickey with script in hand. That was Shaun McCourt, he played both roles in one week.

I've only just realised how close the Richmond theatre is to my home in Putney via train. Had a peek hoping that this would tour there but I suppose it heads to the considerably larger New Wimbledon as it can fill the seats! Pity as the Richmond seems like a lovely size for the show.

I think it played Richmond on the previous tour.

It was in Richmond two years ago. It does go to smaller theatres on occasion.

I saw it once in Skegness I think and it was like a school hall, with a stage a couple of feet off the ground. It was amazing.

I finally got to see it last night in Malvern. As you know, I am a huge fan, but I totally understand it's not everyone's cup of tea.
I honestly don't say this lightly, but this tour is honestly one of the best productions I have ever seen of it.
That's no slight on previous productions, just with this production everything falls into place, the chemistry is just right.
Niki Evans is absolutely outstanding.
Something about this production feels all new and fresh, with a bit of extra oomph.
I never say to others they will definitely love the show, as my love for it is deeply personal.
And it's also finally coming back home - at the Liverpool Empire 25 October to 5 November 2022.
