99th time?? Wow I don’t think I’ve done anything 99 times. I work in theatre and have never seen any production anywhere near that number. I’ve never seen BB though - why is it so good? |

Is there any news on who's going to be in the cast for the 2025 legs? It's playing my local theatre, but I'm holding off booking to make sure it's a decent enough Mrs Johnstone. I too am waiting to hear about this - I missed seeing Vivienne when I went as I didn't realise she doesn't usually do the Thursday matinees. I'm hoping she's staying on - and if so, I'll be sure to go to a Saturday show. |

I am purely guessing here, but as it is at the Empire in March 2025, which is also the theatre's 100th anniversary, I don't think there will be a massive cast change as it is most BB-actors wish to play the Empire at least once. To do it at such a special anniversary will be even better. None of the contracts have been finalised yet for 2025, as far as I know. |

Now that's a difficult question to answer. For me, it's just deeply personal now, and I can't give you an unbiased answer why it is so good. I would never claim it is the best show you will ever see - I am well aware there are far better quality shows out there, either in sense of production, set, script, songs etc. I think it remains popular because some of the themes remain relevant, especially in the current climate. For others the mental struggle resonates, or the adoption storyline. Some recognise the way they were brought up in the 50s/60s/70s, the struggles their families went through. And some just love the show. For me, something clicked the second time I watched it, in 2008. I was enormously struggling with my mental health, and both the decline in Mickey (then also played by Sean Jones) and Mrs Lyons resonated with me. My fan experience slowly snowballed from there. From waiting for it to come back to Bristol to visiting Bath and other nearby venues, to travelling considerable distances across England and Wales, and once to Dublin. From being just another fan, finding a rarely visited Facebook Fanpage where I started shouting into the void, to being made an admin, and still watching it grow every day, which makes me immensely proud - people associated with the show interact with fans, there are now over 4.3k members, and many regular visitors. Meeting so many wonderful people, several of which became very dear friends. I've now even evolved into a 'two show dayer' on occasion. And crikey, I'm exhausted after one of those, so never mind the cast, band and crew! I've visited some great places. It has pulled me out of my comfort zone. I might have paid a fortune over the years on tickets, travel and hotels (and Krispy Kreme donuts for the cast, band and crew), but it has given back so much to me. |

Don't know if I've mentioned it, but it's my 100th show on Saturday. 😁

Don't know if I've mentioned it, but it's my 100th show on Saturday. 😁 Well I've just seen it in Leeds for the first time and, although it's not in my top 5, I can appreciate why you might want to see it 100 times! It struck me as such an emotive show, one that is experienced rather than watched, and very powerful in it's themes. I hope you enjoy your 100th performance! My wife might persuade me to go back this week, otherwise I'll probably wait a year or two for my second! |

but it's my 100th show on Saturday. 😁 Have a great time on Saturday. I saw the Original at the Liverpool Playhouse with Barbara Dickson, the first of many Mrs Johnsons including Lyn Paul, Siobhan Mccarthy, Kiki Dee, Stephanie Lawrence, Maureen Nolan, Helen Reddy( Mememorable as it was the week Princess Diana died and I remember it being an especially emotional performance), Melanie C, Linzi Hately....amongst others. |

The final show of 2024 is now behind us - unfortunately due to Storm Darragh I couldn't make it as my transport options were cancelled.
Definitely not returning are Scott Anson (Narrator) and Ben Mabberley (Perkins/understudy Eddie/last minute guitar in the band).

This needs a new narrator for sure Apparently Bill Kenwright left very specific instructions with regards to Blood Brothers in Liverpool next year before his passing, so I would not be surprised if it is a partial 'Greatest Hits'-cast. |
