Thanks for the explanations all! Liking the sound of the megamix at the end and certainly excited to see Lucie as Elle again after the Curve production in 2016. Hopefully the Liverpool Empire do a better job with the sound than was the case for the opening night of Summer Holiday last month when it was all over the place. bear in mind that sound issues may not be entirely down to the venue team. |

Saw this again on Tuesday and that was a show and a half. Nothing was going right for poor Lucie. Her dressing gown didn't come off during What You Want, so Elle went to the art gallery in her dressing gown. She fell over carrying the dog (who didn't flinch at all) and gave her self concussion and due to that forgot a lot of her lines in act 2.
The show was brilliant as always and except for Bill Ward who is just too much. I can't fault this cast at all, the standouts for me as per usual were Helen Petrovna during Whipped and Laura Harrison as Vivienne who I've really just come to appreciate as as performer.
The audience was a bit more reserved compared to what I had at Sunderland. However this show has really gotten up there into my favourite shows and I'll probably see this in Manchester one more time because it's not extending past Kilarny

Has anyone seen any offers/discounts available for Wimbledon? There’s swathes of unsold seats so was expecting to have seen something on Travelzoo or even TodayTix (I seem to remember The Addams Family appearing on there when it was at Wimbledon) but haven’t seen anything yet, and there’s only just over a week to go.

I sent the Legally Blonde Facebook page and the ATG page a message asking if there were any discounts, and the only one available is £10 off opening night for theatre card holders. They said even with very low ticket sales discounts aren’t guaranteed. On some nights they’ve sold literally a handful of tickets in each level. Does anyone know if they close levels in Wimbledon? Am tempted to book a £15 ticket in the back of the upper circle with the hope they’ll upgrade, or I’ll just move further to the front of that level when it starts. I can’t see them selling all those tickets in the next couple of days. |

They let everyone move to the centre though and we just found some empty seats in the stalls in the interval. |

For anyone else that was waiting for Wimbledon discounts like me, I ended up booking a couple of £15 (cheapest) tickets last night. It was so empty they let us just move into some of the most expensive seats, so had a brilliant view for £15.
I knew the show wasn't going to be anywhere near on par with the West End version, but it wasn't as dreadful as I was expecting. The second act was much better than the first and felt like I got my £15 worth.

This production is VERY cheap in comparison to the West end production. The performers are very good but everything else about this production (including the megamix at the end) screams amateur. |

It’s true that it was nowhere near the quality of the West End version, as I said. That is an outright fact. The sets and costumes looked very cheap, the roles of the dogs were severely reduced (as expected with a touring company) the direction was not as good, the size of the cast was reduced, the performances of some cast members was not the same quality as the West End version I’d seen previously. These are all things that you would come to expect with a second tour like this, and the advertising sets a clear expectation of the quality that will be provided (unlike the new Ghost tour where they were using the original production photos and videos to advertise the tour when the quality had been severely reduced). So it’s true I KNEW it wasn’t going to be West End standard from the reviews I’d read and the promotional material I had seen. The prices of the tickets reflected this however (I thought the pricing was fair), and for £15 I had a good night and enjoyed it (I never said I didn’t enjoy it, as you insinuated), as did my friend. It’s also worth noting when I went no one on the level I was on gave a standing ovation at all at the end. |

Okay imma give my opinion, don’t at me for it, again it’s an OPINION. I don’t think people in this boards don’t know what it means. The set is cheap. The wigs are cheap. The costumes are cheap. The set looks like a cartoon world and makes it look like something that belongs in a pantomime. Also the set is so tacky and not well put together- but I can understand that as it is a tour and you can’t transport a west end quality set around! Poor lucie and that wig - it made her look like she 40! Such a shame that the logistics were so poor for such a big tour  HOWEVER, the cast were good. Lucie is so good at Elle - her voice is stellar. So is Rita Simons, she really did have her comedic timing right!! I just felt underwhelmed by the fact that I felt I was in a panto half the time instead of an actual proper musical. If I have the chance to go back, needless to say I won’t go. |

Many other productions have successfully translated their West End set to a touring equivalent. It narks me that people (and productions) think they can justify a cheap set because its only doing a tour and not a sit down in the big smoke. |

I saw it back in September and I agree it isn’t as good as the West End production. The cast are all amazing, the three Delta Nu girls are all terrific and real theatre stars, but the set let’s it down. It’s just compared to the old set it looks amateur. On the last UK tour they had a very similar set to the West End because it was the same creative team however UK Productions (current producers) don’t reallt tour shows often and mainly do pantos. I mean...why were they on bikes in ohmygod you guys?! Also, the guy playing emmet looks too old for the part even if he was good. Also, they used painted backdrops which added to the panto feel
Nothing can beat the original broadway set...even the West End one was dubbed down.

Some shows are mounted on full West End size for tours but these often stay at a venue for several weeks and have the backing of a Cameron Mc type producer who won't do things by half and has funds to cover the running costs. Plus with the bigger shows you expect a certain standard.
For weekly touring shows the larger sets and staging won't be practical or cost effective so Producers will slim things down.

However youll all be pleased to know im seeing it in Mancy-poohs this week and will be posting my definitive opinions on all important matters including the stringy wigs, flat shoes, singin’ dancin’ and sparkly sets.
