No she is not pregnant. She wore flat shoes and sometimes still does because of back problems and couldn’t do the show in high heels.

Someone thought she was starting to show a few weeks back so if she is pregnant, surely she'd be showing more.
Although I've seen performers who when I've met them at post show events were obviously pregnant but on stage it wasn't noticeable due to good costumes.

I saw the show last night and I am pretty certain she is. You can't hide much in those costumes!

I’m seeing it in Manchester, June if I remember correctly. If whoever is playing Elle, fat, thin, tall, short, young, old or otherwise is clomping round in stringy wigs and flats all night I’ll be foomin’.

Talking of performers being pregnant - STEPS was one of my guilty pleasures and I've seen them in various theatre shows too. Faye when she was playing Eva Cassidy was wearing a baggy jumper and when I spoke to her at Stage Door after she was obviously pregnant and was telling her fans how excited she was. But the "exclusive" Hello/OK spread announcing it was a couple of months later - social media wasn't as big back then though.
If Lucie is pregnant then congrats to her and her husband on the happy news.

I saw this yesterday having seen the previous productions many times before. I really enjoyed it, and it was nice to see some changes from the earlier versions. I LOVED the Irish flag curtain, I wanted to steal it (I am half Irish.) Lucy wasn't on but her u/s (who is normally Margot) was excellent. I thought it was a bit strange how the cast had to come to the front of the stage at the end of each scene so they could change the sets behind the curtain with the university gardens on - in previous productions they must just have been able to change the sets quickly enough to avoid this. It's a great feel good show, with a good message, and it's nice to come out of the theatre on a high. Also kudos to Liam who we heard was running the marathon today, after travelling down to London from Sunderland after the evening show, and then back up to Glasgow for next week!

dont forget she is a human being like all of us and has just had a great time no doubt, with her husband on a long overdue honeymoon....
give her time.
Both LJ and her understudy Rebecca did I brill job this week. So talented!!

Seen this today in Aberdeen.
Who ever thought tangerine was the new pink having that megamix at the end was a good idea is seriously disturbed. I never wanted to leave a theatre as badly as during the last couple of minutes - they murdered one of my all time favourite scores.
Really liked Lucie Jones as Elle Woods, but was not impressed at all by Bill Ward (too loud and hyperactive and he rushed through his lines) and Rita Simons - where's Jodie Jacobs when you need her? Her Ireland was, excuse the pun, so much better.
Set and costumes weren't as bad as I expected them to be after reading this thread, but still odd. The stenographer in the final court/bath room scene was also weird and overacted too much for my liking.
Legally Blonde is still one of my favourite shows, but I'm glad to have only booked Aberdeen and not any more stops. If it were touring again, I do hope it'll be closer to the original.

I agree fully about Bill, I really didn’t like his potrayl or acting choices. He roared a lot which became irritating very quickly. |

I look forward to seeing this when it comes near me. Legally Blonde is great fluff and total fun - and I do like Lucie Jones.
I remember seeing it in London one evening, after seeing a matinee of Priscilla - talk about camp overload by the end if the day! But then, a double-show day is always a treat.

Lucie was fantastic in this last night, as were most of the cast. The production values for this were also a lot better than I thought they would be, most of the costumes were great, Elle’s wig was great, but some of the men’s wigs in particular looked very ropey. Aside from a Mr Blobby-esque Delta Nu set, the scenery wasn’t too bad. Vivienne’s shoes were hideous pretty much throughout. The first pair she wears have the ugliest heel on them, Lola would be ashamed.
Overall I’m sad that I’m only seeing this for the first time now, as I really loved the production. Not all of the songs are instantly memorable but the handful of stand-out numbers and story make up for that, which I assume is akin to Mean Girls.

This is probably a question for the eponymous @theatremonkey, but when booking for this in Wimbledon would people recommend the back row of the stalls, or the front row (at the side) of the upper circle? I'm on a strict £15 budget...

I'm on a strict £15 budget... I sat in A26 for Beautiful the other day and thought it was a great seat. You've got a rail in front of you but to be honest it wasn't the worst restriction and I think here they say the legroom is restricted too but again I didn't find it to be too bad, I'm around 5 foot 7. Sure it wasn't the most comfortable seat but for £15 I couldn't complain! It was quite warm up there though so if the weather is hot definitely dress light, take water and maybe something to use as a fan! |

I'm on a strict £15 budget... rear stalls will feel closer, but the overhang is very noticeable so if you like to see the full proscenium I wouldn't go for that. That said, the Upper will have a handrail in the way so it comes down to which is the lesser of two evils I suppose. On paper, I would say that the stalls seats are "better", on the basis that they are often sold at a higher price than £15 unlike the ones in the Upper. |

It is about that long, they’ve added a “Megamix” at the end and I think someone said at the beginning of the tour that they’ve “slowed down” the songs. |

Thanks for the explanations all! Liking the sound of the megamix at the end and certainly excited to see Lucie as Elle again after the Curve production in 2016. Hopefully the Liverpool Empire do a better job with the sound than was the case for the opening night of Summer Holiday last month when it was all over the place.
