A new production of Legally Blonde is set to run from Monday, 11th April to Saturday, 14th May at the Curve Theatre in Leicester.
If rumours turn out to be true, Lucie Jones might be our new Elle:
Any more rumours? Personally, I wouldn't be particularly unhappy if Jodie Jacobs returned once more as Paulette.

Someone asked Jodie Jacobs after seeing her in the Upstairs at the Gatehouse production, but she wasn't even considered as Paulette. Bummer, I'd have hoped she'd return.
Any ideas on a potential Paulette? Rachel John anyone?

Looking forward to seeing this - Thoroughly enjoyed the West End version and am currently nearing show week for an amateur production (playing Emmett) and as a result have become a pretty big fan of the show!

Well that is a bit underwhelming for Paulette....i'm sure she'll be great through. Just wished for a bigger 'star'...what with the quality of the rest of the cast. Still looking forward to it though.

I'll be seeing this production six times over two succeeding weekends  I think I'd go even more often if I lived in the UK - Legally Blonde is one of my all-time favourite shows and, as nice as the Upstairs at the Gatehouse production was, I'm dying to see a full-scale production with - hopefully - a big(ish) orchestra. |

Out of interest has anyone actually seen Tupele Dorgu in anything or hear or sing? Know nothing about her other that she used to be in Corrie. Obviously Paulette isn't a massive role but she does has one of the biggest songs in the show so hope she can do it justice.

I must admit that I've hoped for either Jodie Jacobs to reprise her role once more or for Rachel John to play Paulette - but the first wasn't even considered, and the second was cast in Bodyguard. |

I saw Tupele in Chicago and I was underwhelmed. She can sing yes but her vibrato sounds horrible and quite forced. Just my opinion.

I am hopefully going on the 11th to this, I am really excited as I have never seen Legally Blonde live but have been a huge fan of the Cast Recording and MTV Recording so I hope it lives up to the already high expectations I have in my head!
Are we to expect any major changes or will they likely stick to the well reviewed West End production?

I am seeing this production in April and am very excited to see if there are any changes and what the take on it will be. I hope there isn't too many changes though as I fell in love with the westend production and am hoping for an afternoon of reminiscing

Have to say I'm very tempted by this - even though it does sound like everything I hate. Plus, I imagine a man on his own at this sort of show would be a bit sad!
Any chance this production will tour?

Here here...if there is someone that thinks your sad because you are seeing a show by yourself then they are the 'sad one' for thinking it!
Gosh if I only ever saw things with friends/family then I wouldn't have been able to see half the things I see (Theatre/Cinema/Concerts) because sometimes getting people to make a decision and agree on a date/price can be a nightmare, I always think it's a shame when someone remarks 'oh I really wanted to see that but didn't as no one would go with me'...I'm like just go and enjoy it, if you feel like a treat then take yourself out for dinner too ;-)
So Addison I say go for it and enjoy the show solo...'Legally Blonde' is a favorite of mine, saw twice on it's West-End run and recently twice at the fringe production at 'Upstairs at the Gatehouse' in North London - I looked at going to this but then realised I too many shows on my list!!

I agree with the above, it is so much easier to go it alone, you can make friends at the theatre (dayseating in particular), you can go by your own watch etc... and everything you see and do can be to please yourself and not someone else!  Plus, I am really not a fan of gender stereotypes in theatre. If you are a man or a woman, you should be able to go to the theatre and enjoy yourself regardless of the show. If I saw a man alone at Legally Blonde I would congratulate the guy for wanting to see a damn good show. |
