I wouldn't be surprised if Stacy Francis off X Factor USA and CBB plays Rachel on tour. She recently joined colekitchenn and has relocated in the uk from America to focus on joining a musical here. Also dreamgirls tooShe's 47. Theyd have to write a part for Effie's granny. sorry didn't know she was 47 - she looks younger but black people age rlly well.. Still not too old for Rachel though

Beverley don't look 43 but was a grand Rachel - Rachel doesn't have to be young so I presume STacy F would be going to try and get that role

Who the F is Stacy F? That's such a random thought, just because she moved to the UK doesn't make her a contender for anything.

It reminds me of a time when a colleague was talking to me about... "women's problems". She meant to compliment me but it came out as being worded extremely badly. "I love that I can talk to you about these things, normal men just don't understand". Well damn, all this time I never thought I was abnormal!!

Who the F is Stacy F? That's such a random thought, just because she moved to the UK doesn't make her a contender for anything. She is a singer from the USA who was on the X factor and CBB in Jan. It's not a random thought because she has recently joined cole kitchenn and is moving to the Uk to do theatre work in London. Hence why I thought about The Bodyguard, especially as she said how much she loves the show and music during an interview on Encore Radio.

It was a compliment. I support black lives and would dream of trying to be racist or anything. I think black people themselves call it 'black don't crack' or something meaning how good black people age. I just meant lots of black actresses, singers etc look much younger than their age.

Hoping it's early 2018 rather than mid 2018, do love this show!

I wonder if they'll go with a 'name' for the tour- it would probably sell well without it at this stage.
Rachel John will be in Hamilton but she would have been a terrific Rachel full time. I never saw Carole Stennett.
I can't imagine Beverley going back on tour?

I doubt Alexandrea will do it again, but I'm willing to put money on Zoe getting it full time.
If that's the case I'll probably just want to watch it with the alternate just to tick the box, and hopefully somewhere in Wimbledon and not too far from London. Nothing wrong with Zoe, but I've seen her. I think I will dedicate time to go see it in Paris when it opens next year.

That Was a rumour that a familiar face was taking it on?
Also Alexandra did say in a interview she was taking a break at the end of September.

I do wish that this was an open-ended West End run rather than a tour every couple of years! It does annoy me because if Made in Dagenham had gone to a smaller theatre rather than the Adelphi, I'm pretty sure The Bodyguard would've ran longer at the Adelphi, maybe even a year until Kinky Boots came the following year?! It deserved to do longer in London and Made in Dagenham would've benefited much more too had it gone to a smaller theatre.
I don't understand why this show doesn't run long time in a theatre like the New London, Phoenix, Novello, Aldwych etc. I know they need the free theatre but in a theatre that size (just over 1,000 seats) it would do really well. The name for Rachel and the Whitney music would sell well - look at Mamma Mia! I do hope this comes back to London full-time one day and not just for 6 months!
In the meantime we will have to do with a tour!

The tour and recent Dominion run weren't a patch on the original Adelphi version. I loved that sh*t. The reworked production felt diluted.

Well it was meant to stay in London, but they didn't want to go into a smaller theatre as the show is expensive to run. They were looking at the Aldwych, but that is 300 seats less than the Adelphi so it would of made a financial difference. If the Adelphi hadn't signed a contract with Made in Dagenham, it could of easily squeezed at least another year of star casting out of the bag. That being said, the tour was a huge success so I'm not surprised it is going out on the road again. The Dominion was too big a theatre for it, but the three times I went it was close to full.

I wish they had both Greatest Love of All and Say Yes, possibly Say Yes, moulding into Greatest Love of All?

Turning it into a "Mayan Medley" did nothing for me. And as for the wood cabin, well that speaks for itself.

I think the whole point was to streamline the story and squeeze in and shorten that one scene where Rachel, Frank and Tony all confront and get it over with. I also think it also establishes that she cares for her son and not a total cold b*itch rather early in the act, instead of only showing real emotion in the end of the act when she sings I Have Nothing.
It's too bad that the definitive and final version everywhere is the one that is used in tour now.

I don't have a problem with the medley itself per se, but the staging of the original was SO much better and so inventive. The focus was more on the scene rather than the song and dance part of it. I felt cheated that the boys doubled as both her dancers as well as the crowd. It also wasn't convincing that it turned into a mob, in its current version. The original version was so tight and really looked like she was performing in a small gritty club.
I don't really care about the cabin, they brought it back for the German production. I guess they have the option to use it if it was a sit-down, non-touring production.
