They say a familiar face is down to play it.
I can only think of Alexandra Burke? Who else?
Stuart Reid coming back, he's going to Toronto?

I doubt Alex would do it again after doing it for 18 months on tour, it would get boring. She'll want to focus on her music career or other new shows in London or tour. I want to know when booking opens

If wouldn't surprise me if Alex did it again, but I don't think she will. She said before Sister Act that she wanted to do one more show then go back to making music.
Although she has been by far the best-selling leading lady over The Bodyguard's lifetime, and sales on Sister Act show that producers can shift a huge amount of tickets on her name, so if the price is right who knows.

Well if Alexandra Burke is taking sister act into the west end. Who's the familiar Rachel, that will be doing the tour next year.
Or don't we think this is happening now.

How about Ruth Brown? She may need a project now.

Its not been confirmed Alexandra is going to the West End with Sister Act. Seem to be going round in circles with this thread. It might not even be a familiar Rachel on the tour. Tour is happening in 2018 tho.

Outside of this forum, I haven't heard a murmur of a second tour. It's next year. While they might have an idea who it will be, I have a feeling they probably didn't even finalize a deal yet.

I don't doubt it..but I'm just saying that predicting a cast right now is a bit of a waste.
I'm sort of over The Bodyguard..43 or so times later.. I think I am over it for a while*. Plus, it really isn't the same show it was when it was in London from 2012. It lost its look, and was a lot more fabulous than the imitation that is touring the US and opening here and there.
*might be in Milan for a day next week for work. The Italians have done their own version and the costumes, staging, singing is all absolutely atrocious. Must. see.

Re the next tour, the dates aren't 100% locked down yet but to the best of my knowledge it is happening. Of course, until the point where tickets go on sale things can happen and tours can get pulled - there's been countless tours over the last few years that have been "100% happening" from inside the industry, to end up getting pulled.
That said, for an existing show that has had already had successful West End and touring runs, the chance of it being pulled is next to zero. Dates often get jiggled around and start/finish dates change (as has already happened with Bodyguard), but once theatres start booking it in, it's happening.
And with regards to casting, it's definitely way too early, however I would be very surprised if it wasn't a name of some sorts as Rachel Marron, as has been the case since the show's inception (minus the few weeks when Gloria Onitiri was lead at the Adelphi)

I just can't see Alexandra doing it again, surly she will have loads of offers.
It's got to be a pop star playing Rachel?
Least it's doing well IN Toronto. What happened to Ben Richards?

Ben Richards is gone, luckily. One of the most ghastly appearances and performances I've seen on stage. He was practically a corpse.

I thought Ben Richards OK too given the part is rather lack lustre for the title role.

I agree with ali973, I thought Ben Richards was pretty poor. Though to be honest I thought the whole show was pretty poor apart from the two female leads, so he wasn't its only flaw as far as I was concerned.

I could swear this thread is getting more action now than it ever was when it was touring or running in London.
Anyway..There will be an 8-track EP of Deborah Cox singing the songs from the show. I'm a bit unclear when it will come out.

I wouldn't be surprised if Stacy Francis off X Factor USA and CBB plays Rachel on tour. She recently joined colekitchenn and has relocated in the uk from America to focus on joining a musical here. Also dreamgirls too
