Oh cool, I missed that. "Partly reworked" could mean any scale of the degree. Promo says "reimagined." Who knows? Hopefully this announcement means JL will talk about it in more detail soon. I agree it could mean pretty much anything! Other than the obvious changes of bringing it inside, JCS was pretty much unaltered. I think this might be changed quite a bit. Though white nightie and barefoot would not surprise me! Hopefully smoke and (indoor) flares in abundance as previously.

The instagram account is following Paulo Szot. For auditions the casting brief for some characters, they wanted people of Latino heritage specifically. Dance styles required Hip Hop & Latin

Paulo Szot was Perón in that

I am still surprised that the run is so short, I would’ve thought they could do 4 months easily. I’ve just had a look at the other limited engagements at the Palladium and would say a lot of these would be better suited at the Eventim Apollo.

I wonder if a transfer could happen to coincide with Evita's 50 year anniversary

I am still surprised that the run is so short, I would’ve thought they could do 4 months easily. Is it kinda fixed for the Summer musical and they all run a similar amount of time? Joseph obvs came back for a second season. Has one of these ever transferred? For whatever reason JL shows seem to almost never be open ended. Though I'll be mildly peeved if we get a burst of it here before abandoning these shores for the $$$ signs of Broadway and a much longer run (like Sunset).

If Ariana DeBose is attached they're definitely aiming for Bway

Yeah. That’s my hunch too. Though if it does cross the pond guess at least there’s a chance of a cast recording✌🏻!

The King and I did play the Dominion. i just think these event nights and pantomime is a waste and I would personally miss the Palladium big musicals like the glorious Sound of Music, Sister Act or Chitty. The last big open musical was I Can’t Sing which was a massive flop. I am a bit sceptical on the business management decision to run a musical for just over 2 months, surely they don’t make money in that time, I guess they make their money from a tour, hence why I am suggesting 4 months run. Obviously I am no pantomime fan, if you are naturally you prefer the status quo. The London Palladium is the greatest theatre in the world.

God I loved I Can’t Sing.
High on the list of legendary flops!
Agree I’d also be happy to see open ended runs at the Palladium (and also have zero interest in the Pantomine) but it’s very much not the direction of travel.
Joseph’s three years in the 90’s were epic.

The Palladium's roots are in variety, it didn't start doing regular runs of musicals until the 1980s and it think works well business wise for LW Theatres to be able to do one nighters alongside panto and a summer musical.

I'm sure I read that The Lord wanted the Palladium to revert back to being a variety theatre, so the mixture of a short summer musical, panto and then lots of one night concerts fits in perfectly with that plan. Plus auditions for BGT (although less said about that the better).

If I had to guess, an extension "due to overwhelming demand" will be issued

It's going to be ethereal, with balloons and Eva floating over the audience in a Peron-does-Poppins dreamscape.

It’s the same length run as Dolly isn’t it?
Maybe the casting is dictating the run length
