There are glimpses of Dorothy, Toto, Scarecrow (Jonathan Bailey) , Lion, Tin Man (Ethan Slater) , as well as Jeff Goldblum as the Wizard of Oz in the footage that was shown at CinemaCon! I wonder who was cast As the Lion and Dorothy? I thought it was going to be like the show and we don't see Dorothy. X |

I heard the leaked audio of the trailer, and I’m interested in how fans are going to react to the amount of riffs in the Defying Gravity battlecry (considering I’ve seen people criticising performers like Jessica Vosk going over the top with their riffing)

I think I see The lullaby league in the recent pictures of the set. It makes me wonder if they got the rights to use some elements from the 1939 Wizard of Oz and if so does this mean that we will see the Ruby Slippers?

Seems excessive like she's auditioning for xfactor or something |

There are some other pictures floating around of this scene on Twitter and you can see piles of yellow bricks in the background and yeah it does look like we are seeing the construction of the yellow brick road. It will be some kind of comment on how the Wizard is fake and the yellow brick road is literally just bricks painted yellow and there’s nothing magical or special about it.
Maybe in the first movie we see Oz as this great beautiful place and then in the second movie we see how it’s all a facade and not we thought it to be.

Anyone know what exactly that clip was at CinemaCon of the Ruby Slippers? I'm still surprised that they were able to get them for the movies. I wonder how much they spent to be able to use them?

In the books, parts of the yellow brick road have fallen into disrepair. I think it is just yellow bricks, the only particularly special thing about is that it leads to the Emerald City.

They’ve now moved onto the Shiz set and there is more drone footage and photos of what looks like Dear Old Shiz and possibly The Wizard and I. No audio. But my god does the set design for this movie look outstanding! They could have easily cheaped out and done a lot of this in a studio with CGI.

Swung by the set yesterday (not inside obviously, just took a walk along the canal). I'd seen it said how much the size of the set doesn't come over on phone cameras but gosh is that ever true. Place is huge. Took some souvenir selfies alongside but nothing in there that hasn't been posted lots already.
Didn't hear any playback but lots of industry happening, things being built and worked on. I'm very hyped for this to come out.
Cynthia posted a lovely message on Insta about filming "I'm Not That Girl" and it's obvious how much their hearts are in making this and how much they *get* it. I've posted before in the main Wicked thread how much that song means to me, and it's really encouraging to see that it resonates with the people making it for similar reasons.
The whole thing just feels like it's in very safe hands
