It seems the West End had been spoiled by Thriller.

Is there another secret world of clandestine seat fillers ready to enable papering at short notice ? Yes, at least two more that I know of. There is a least a third site as other threads mention some big shows papering that I've not seen on the ones you mention and the other two. I've seen MJ pop on one of them twice and I went once papering. Not sure how much further discussion is allowed under the rules here. I certainly can't name the sites as I understand the rule. I did once sit next to a serviceman who had a free ticket for a West End show which may be actual papering.

That person could've had that ticket as part of an access plan or something like that. Lots of ways to obtain tickets for free outside of papering.
Selling discounted tickets may be done on these "seat-filling services" but that is not papering as we define it here per se... MJ (and most shows!) prefer to do that on these services and places like TodayTix Drops rather than paper so they can still make a profit to pay running costs. But it's just been in a massive slump lately, so they have been offering more papered tickets than usual.
Sales may improve in the holidays but honestly I see this closing soon... I seriously think they need to mount that tour!

Given the challenges this production has faced with keeping cast members healthy and on stage, that is only going to get worse if they try to tour. The additional stress of moving performers round the country could lead to more cancellations.

The additional stress of moving performers round the country could lead to more cancellations. I definitely agree, but this is always going to be an associated risk with a production with as sky-high physical demand as this, and on tour these things can be managed with the proper precautions. I'd like to see this show continue though as I think touring is really where the money would lie for a show like this and would run great.

You would have thought they really should have managed it better for the current run.
The number of reports of key performers being off is surely one of the worst in the West End

It's not a bad show but I'd gladly see it close - I enjoyed seeing it a couple of times, but there's no yearning desire to go again. It's a shame as the performances were good - I think the theatre is too big for this kind of show. Time for it to close and for Martin Guerre to make a glorious return home once more.

I've seen it quite a fair few times on "these services" and a lot of those tix get snatched up quick as usually they are short notice on the day.
MJ does push more steeply discounted tickets on services like TodayTix Drops/insert ticket discount site here which is how the money is made rather than putting all the tickets up for these services, because even if it's £20/30 for seats at triple digits it's still money coming in.
How I'm talking about papering is defined in our rules: "Papering is where free tickets to productions are distributed in order to fill seats. We don’t allow the naming of companies who are giving tickets away for specific productions."Thank you for respecting our rules. The reason for them is that we all know papering is happening but even the papering companies themselves don’t want it talked about. They make this very clear in their T&C’s. Bottom line, if anyone wants papering offers, sign up to the companies who offer them. Google is your friend.

Though it has evolved into a smaller show than the original. Few fans of the original will ever forget the magnificence of the opening few bars of music. Happy days.

Ain’t too Proud sold a lot better than this in this theatre and that closed much earlier than planned. It seems the West End had been spoiled by Thriller. That is simply not true . Also they are currently sending out offers for the cast change- and I don’t think they’d do that if they were planning on closing it.

I think things change quicker than many of us care to remember. Likely they are hoping to get enough of a boost with the holiday season to sustain a long enough run to necessitate a cast change. But, as per Cinderella and others, they may announce a closing date before cast change if money isn't enough to cover rehearsals for the new cast

Can anyone confirm if Myles has been performing lately? I’m a big fan of the show and follow posts on social media, but I can’t catch everything! I think he was out of the show for about 3 weeks in October due to a foot injury, and then he came back for a few shows at the end of the month (including the Halloween evening performance). But lately, I’ve seen a lot of posts with Kieran in the role and not Myles. Has anyone seen Myles in the show recently? I’d love to see him again, but I don’t want to make the trip if he’s been m.i.a…. Thank you!
P.S. No offense to Kieran… he’s great, too!

I haven’t seen him since probably late September and even then he only did act 1! I was sat next to someone on Monday who had seen it 6 times in the last 4 weeks and she said she hasn’t seen Myles yet

His attendance record is shocking. I don’t know how he gets away with it. And to think of all the money they are paying him!!
