I don’t think there are any. Are people being incapacitated by covid any worse than they would be by flu nowadays?

There is a strain going around, I had covid for the first time last month. But surely all west end shows are vulnerable to the same issue, but no other keeps cancelling.
With my job you're expected to go in, unless you're too ill to work (like any other cold/flu virus). I don't know if the west end is different.

So I read a comment on IG under one of the MJMusicalUK posts….someone commented that they hoped Myles foot was healing so looks as if he has an injury. That would explain his absence.
We were in London approx 3 weeks ago, and I came home with some flu virus and was floored for 2 weeks!

Covid in the cast this time If that’s the case I would expect it to be canceled again tonight Did it go ahead? Anyone go?

Does anyone know when the cast is due to change? I would like to go again early next year and am hoping the current cast are all still performing

I don’t see the hate for this show.
I gave it 5 stars. The dancing, music and performances were SPECTACULAR!
Yes it’s a reflection on his life and doesn’t dig that deep but I thought it was very smart to do it this way in the rehearsal room and it finishes obviously when the concert starts. I don’t get people staying that it finishes suddenly. I was left wanting MORE.
I would literally see it again tomorrow night. (Myles was off btw)
The talent on that stage! Wow.

I saw this tonight (my 10th visit!) and yes Myles was off but Monday is his scheduled night off! On a side note they have struggled for months to get 1 MJ on stage and tonight they managed 2! Both standbys on, one for MJ and the other for 80s Michael, I thought it gave the show a different dimension as both vocally are similar so worked better, where as the usual Michael (Mitchel Zhangazh) a completely different tone.

Tons of seats left for the rest of this week - about half full. Barely any tickets sold in January. Surely it will announce closure soon.

I note that DMT have dispensed with the booking fee for Monday to Thursday's shows until the end of the proposed run in June, except for the two-week School Easter Holidays in April and Bank Holiday Monday week in May.

I have never booked a theatre ticket more than two weeks ahead in my life. Tourists are mostly the same. When I booked a week or so ago the stalls was mostly empty and last night it was packed. I think this says a lot about new theatre consumer habits. No?

Should do very good over Christmas.

It doesn't seem to be selling well at all. Not sure it will last very long

Oh and it was sold out tonight (Monday evening) absolutely packed This isn’t going anywhere! Up to about Row L in the Stalls it was fairly busy with a few empty seats dotted around, behind Row L there were lots of empty seats which I can’t see them having sold and no one turn up! It was far from a sell out last night which is a shame.

This is papering a lot. While there's a lot of sales on the door from tourists which see it because of the marketing being virtually everywhere, I wouldn't be shocked if at least 5~10% in every showing are seat fillers.
This would make bank on tour though. Feel like it'd play a lot better regionally

I have seen it on seat filling only once for a weeks worth of shows and not since so I will be surprised unless there are seating sites I don’t know about but I’m pretty sure I’m on all the ones that cover the major shows!

When you refer to papering does that mean literally free no strings tickets for certain groups of people ? I'm on the books of AC, SFF and CT but only AC is occasionally completely free and the others rarely less than £10. Never seen MJ on any of them. Is there another secret world of clandestine seat fillers ready to enable papering at short notice ?

I've seen it quite a fair few times on "these services" and a lot of those tix get snatched up quick as usually they are short notice on the day.
MJ does push more steeply discounted tickets on services like TodayTix Drops/insert ticket discount site here which is how the money is made rather than putting all the tickets up for these services, because even if it's £20/30 for seats at triple digits it's still money coming in.
How I'm talking about papering is defined in our rules: "Papering is where free tickets to productions are distributed in order to fill seats. We don’t allow the naming of companies who are giving tickets away for specific productions."

Is there another secret world of clandestine seat fillers ready to enable papering at short notice ? Yes, at least two more that I know of. There is a least a third site as other threads mention some big shows papering that I've not seen on the ones you mention and the other two. I've seen MJ pop on one of them twice and I went once papering. Not sure how much further discussion is allowed under the rules here. I certainly can't name the sites as I understand the rule.
