No surprise at all that Frost is off today; just wish they’d advertise when press night is before you book, to avoid disappointment. Difficult not to feel cheated when people have raved about his performance. Most stars don’t take off the day after press night. Do you think Imelda Staunton will take off after Hello Dolly’s press night? Of course she won’t…I think she missed 1 performance total in Gypsy. Am I wrong? |

This is going to be problematic attendance. Mark my words. The signs are all there so book without any expectations of seeing anyone in particular.

I think the reality is that the show knows only a very small percentage of ticket buyers are going to be going for a particular performer. To use the above comparison, Imelda Staunton is a recognisable, more than established name here that lots of 'casual' theatre goers would have booked especially to see. The draw for this is Michael Jackson, regardless of who is going to be playing him on any given night. Patchy attendance from Frost isn't going to dampen the enthusiasm from the predominantly 'jukebox' crowd.

Your point was based on the knowledge that you have based on the fact that he missed a lot of shows in New York. My only point was that most stars don’t take off the day after Press night. That’s all. |

I'm not an MJ fan particularly and went to see it with an open mind expecting it to be average, but Myles performance blew me away along with the rest of the production. I thought it was excellent - in fact I'm back next week because I enjoyed it so much.

A friend has travelled all the way from Leicester with her 10 year old son to see it and just found out that it’s been cancelled. She’s understandably really annoyed and now wandering around central London. How many shows have they cancelled now?
