The icing would be if the Tonty Award winning Ali Stroker came over and reprised her role. She was simply fantasic, I would have given her 2 Tony awards.

They might bring her - I am not sure there would be many other candidates of her talent if they wanted to have a disabled actor in a leading role. |

Interestingly - "In association with Eva Price, Sonia Friedman Productions and Michael Harrison". So 3 commercial producers already attached makes me think it will probably transfer after its run at the Young Vic (relatively short run at 2 months). It's not a guarantee it'll transfer especially since it would require extensive work to convert one of the West End theatres to match the production but saying that the new Nimax Theatre is opening mid to late next year and IIRC that's meant to be a flexible space and if Nica wants something big and bold for her new theatre, this is it. |

I have a credit note I need to use for the Young Vic, but I’m really not sure about this one. I listened to some of the album when it was mooted for a transfer here a couple of years ago, and I remember it sounding rather oversung to me.

I listened to the OBC a while ago and afraid it's not for me. Too stripped back for my taste.
I'll stick to my memory of seeing Hugh Jackman at the NT and the John Wilson prom.

The production has recently started a US tour where it's playing traditional proscenium arch venues - and has been restaged accordingly. So there's no reason why, depending on the reception it receives at the Young Vic, it shouldn't transfer to a regular west end house.

Actually Fun Home when originally produced at the Public Theatre was in the Newman Theatre which is a traditional end on stage (it's where Hamilton and A Chorus Line both started), it was restaged in the round when it moved to Broadway, and then back to proscenium arch production for the US tour and the Young Vic.
I suspect that Oklahoma will be either traverse or use thrust staging at the Young Vic, but, if it has a life beyond, there's already a blueprint for staging it in a more traditional theatre.

This could move to the Playhouse, that is in the round - if Cabaret doesn’t continue when Eddie Redmayne /Jessie Buckley departs.

If you have not done so, then I would recommend having a look at the clips of this production on YouTube before booking. I did and I shall not be booking for this. The country music treatment does not work for me.

Hi Friends, New to this forum. I got to see OK! at St. Anne's Warehouse before it moved to Broadway. I'm one for more adventurous productions and liked a lot about this. The main complaint was that all the dialogue is handled VERY heavily - as. if. every. word. is. so. important. that it got a bit exhausting. Sometimes you can just say "Good Morning, Aunt Eller" without it having to carry the weight of the world. I liked the musical arrangement as that is what music played by those characters would sound like. The design and staging were also great. Have to agree with others that the dream ballet was... odd. But altogether I was glad I saw it. There were definitely those walking out who did not agree. One woman even said loudly OK?  I'm glad it's getting a new life at the Old Vic! |

Booked twice. 2 x 2 lots of £10 tickets and then 2 more for my parents (Band A for £15 as they're over 60).
£70 for 6 tickets to a quality production. Can't beat it. Especially considering I paid £55 when I saw it in New York.
