Really when Letts commented it was behind a pay wall and not many will have seen it. Some theatre social media accounts put his words on social media, but in doing so brought them to a whole wider audience. Why do people do this? Why can't people say I saw his words, I didn't agree. No, they want to draw more attention to them, and perhaps to themselves too. They post the offending text cause, cause a pile on, fan the flames and then step back and watch it all burn! It is quite irresponsible behaviour really. Well I originally saw it because the deputy editor of The Stage posted it on his account. Only the ‘insulting’ parts. I guess it’s theatre ‘news’ Isaac’s response I saw here. But I saw the production and while cruel in places Letts does have some points.

He is just as guilty of attention seeking as anyone in this.

With Rodney Vubya's behaviour at Cinderella, it really does beg the question what do you have to do to be sacked?

Imagine if CHF ever gets in a show with some of this mob? Excellent idea, why not make her the next Elle. Send Rodney over as one of the poodles too. Keep them all in one show.

There's usually front row for £15 on the day and also the grass banks for £15 but I don't know if those are always available or not.

Went again tonight, really enjoyed it apart from the guy in front who acted out the whole show.
Some good little changes, better outfits, lighting, some notes and lyrics and you can now see thr orchestra.

Was also there again tonight. The issues that I had are still there. Issac hasn’t improved and the solo sections are very poorly sung. Eugene is still not there as Callahan. Very weak.
Sound did get better in act two - and particularly for Legally Blonde Remix was much better, and the costumes also improved.
Over-choreographed in so many places, particularly So Much Better and There Right There!
I believe most of my issues with this production would have been overcome with a more experienced director.
Courtney though, I did really love her performance. Hope she gets some great casting opportunities going forward.

Hoping for a longer run? A new life somewhere else?

Shame you didn't like Eugene - thought he was one of the stronger aspects of the show, actually. I do think that he's playing the part with an arm tied behind his back, though - some of the lyrical changes change the character a fair bit, where as the plot doesn't change, so I can imagine it's significantly harder to get aspects of Callahan's personality across.

I know I'm going to sound really bitter here, but I've seen a few posts from cast members saying things like "I have made history tonight by being the first trans/non-binary/whatever else X in history." I can't help but feel it's Legally Blonde... is it really making history?
Now if it was the first non-binary Phantom, or the first trans Jean Valjean, then yeah, 100% I can see the "making history" aspect... but Legally Blonde... calm down.

Well, either way, if it’s a first, it is history, however small. I just find it a bit cringe them writing it about themselves. Whatever happened to humility.

I think it's worth celebrating.
I like Callahan, it's a tough role because (IMO) his song is the worst song.
I felt it was much better last night, and I loved it the first time!

All the self congratulation does get a bit tiresome. Let the acting /singing /dancing do the talking first. Only when the critics/press/actors stop highlighting the ‘firsts’ do we finally realise that casting black, trans, non binary, disabled actors is just the norm.

I agree that the performance is the praise itself, but I can also understand why after such struggles it needs a celebration.

Once it is the norm, it won't need celebrating anymore. Until it is, I think it does warrant celebration. :-)

Today the really good swing who plays lots of roles is taking over Margot, I really like her.

True. Apparently Allie is going on as Margot for both shows today and will be the first Trans Margot. I am very intrigued cos I really liked her in Rent and have friends that saw her in Priscilla and said she was fab, so hope she is going to be good as Margot, too. Definitely really enjoyed her in the ensemble.
