Buckley is out until Wednesday. So Buckley is just not doing her shows any more is that it? Would be nice to have some sort of announcement about her missing all these shows. Her name is above the title and I paid hundreds to see her in this. It’s really poor form if I’m honest. Any reason as to her absences? Again, she might be ill! Until a couple of weeks ago she hadn't missed any shows, and given her absence was previously only announced until Saturday this doesn't look planned. Have a tiny bit of compassion rather than just jumping to conclusions... all performers are human even though you clearly expect them to be robots. And above the title is not a concept that exists in the UK, for the millionth time. No need to restart an argument that was only had two pages ago.

Why not? They’ve paid hundreds of pounds to see an advertised artist. They should be contacted and informed of the change to the show, then given the chance to re-book. Not just find out when they get there. Emily Benjamin is wonderful and was great every time I saw her in BOOH, but I’m pretty sure she wasn’t sent onto Graham Norton to advertise the show. There are many people who won’t care and thats fine, but those that do should be given the opportunity to get what they paid for.

I think it’s the “radio silence” approach by the producers that adds to the problem. If she’s off sick, say so. By saying nothing what message is being given? Do they think people don’t care who’s in it after the casting has been shouted from the rooftops? Do they think people won’t notice? Or do they just think that by saying nothing they’ll avoid some awkward interactions with customers? It’s disingenuous to say the least.

To clarify will they actually offer a refund if asked to?

Any west end producer who did that would probably get lynched by their peers for setting a precedent. Good luck to anyone trying it though,I’m sure we’d love to hear the outcome!

Yes: I booked for this show specifically to see Jessie Buckley, not for the show itself which I'm already very familiar with. For those of us who are paying over £100 in rail fares on top of the humungous ticket price the least these venues could do is let customers know beforehand so they could make alternative plans. London theatre seems to think everyone who comes to the theatre is so rich it doesn't matter to them, and they all live in London.

It is very reminiscent of how our country is currently being governed. Not quite lies. Not respected enough to be given information about things that affect us. If your leaders are doing it and getting away with it, why can’t theatre producers?

To clarify will they actually offer a refund if asked to? I don’t believe so, no. Awful. I know this topic has been done to death but if producers don’t want to accept the risk of not being able to deliver on their advertised service they should not deceive customers into paying loads of money thinking they are going to receive said service. Alternatively, if they are truly selling the show only they should remove Eddie and Jessie’s name from all advertising and website. You can’t have your cake and eat it too!

They are also selling the extension by using the poster image that names Eddie and Jessie. It’s very shady to say the least. Most people won’t be aware that they are out of there in a few weeks.

She was at the theatre on Thursday during the day for the filming and she looked perfectly fine, but she didn't do the show that evening and she hasn't been on ever since. It's likely that's she's been qiven time off for other commitments. But yes, the producers should let patrons know what's going since she's one of the names used to promote the show

Post-cast change when there are actually seats available? Not sure how much good that'll do anyone if they specifically want to see Jessie. It's just not really feasible.

To be honest, that isn’t the customers problem is it?

Figures.

Well If they weren't happy the first time, I don't think they'll be thrilled when they show up to their rebooked dates and find that not only is Jessie not on that night, she's actually no longer in the show at all...

I'm going tonight and if it's true she's not on I'll be very disappointed to say the least. With the amount they're charging, they owe some kind of explanation.
I wonder if she has commitments for the Oscars, you have to campaign for it, so it's possible she's off doing that.

When you go to the website to book it clearly states "casting to be announced" and if you click on any date after when Eddie and Jessie have finished a window pops up to say that the roles of Emcee and Sally to be announced then you have to click to acknowledge before being allowed to go any further so no one should be unaware. Nothing "shady" at all and they make it very clear.

For anyone who has been, can you tell me when they tend to do the dancing onstage in the interval and the phone bits before?
I don't want to miss them and I'm usually popping to the loo before the show and in the interval but don't want to miss either of these bits.
Thanks!

I was at 2nd preview so things might have changed since there. But I think you will be fine for first 5 mins of interval as people are up and down and FOH staff busy serving drinks and dessert to the tables. The dancing etc started about 5 mins before the start of Act 2.

The day I went the dancing bit was really short, just a couple of minutes or even less. The performers really struggled to persuade patrons to join them on stage, and the whole thing ended up just being three people doing a silly conga.
I went to a matinee though, maybe evening patrons are more eager to participate.

Hi all, I have been reading this forum for years but never contributed and hope this is allowed because I’ve seen posts on here from those who weren’t able to see this original cast due to COVID…
I have 2 tickets for this Friday 25th eve available. I have seen the show already and loved it but sadly can’t risk this week as I have a fit to fly PCR test coming up. Seats are are Stalls, row E and I got these at the initial cheaper price of £90 each. Willing to let them go cheaper so as not to waste!
Tried my best negotiating skills (I’m a solicitor) with ATG about returns but they will not accept returns despite a note on the email confirmation saying they will if sold out! Thanks

Buckley or Benjamin, I am still just over the moon for not only my first trip to London, but also getting to see Cabaret next Monday. Either way, the experience will be sublime.
My only concern at this point is the pre-admittance Covid test. I tried setting up an account in the NHS App but kept hitting a wall without a UK postal code.

You don't need the app to register a covid test (just to register your vaccinations), just use the website and select the option to send you confirmation of your result via text/email.
