Billie seems a great call. She hasn't sang for years but you don't have to be the greatest singer to play Sally and she can be played by a variety of ages. For the Emcee I did think of Olly Alexander but I think he has a tour coming up soon with Years and Years.

Why does ATG sell all the return tickets at £250 regardless of the original price point of the ticket?? There are loads of returns for tomorrow evening and I would have loved to go, but definitely not for £250. Because people buy them? Almost every retuned ticket gets snapped within minutes, unless it's very close to performance time. I'm not sure people understand what commercial theatre is...

Looks like Janet Jackson has just been to see it according to a pick on IG with AJ Casey.

The replacements have already been cast. It's all very hush hush at the moment, but if what I've heard it's true, nothing to be excited about Do the replacements equal the high profiles of Buckley and Redmayne or are they known by mainly theatre fans? The source I heard it from is not 100% reliable but if the names given are true, no high profile at all. Don't think people will be willing to fork out £250 for a ticket with the replacements

The money for these tickets is up there with the top price seats at a lot of big name concerts now.

Ticket prices will come down

What merchandise do they have at the show? Do we think the production will get a cast recording?

What merchandise do they have at the show? Do we think the production will get a cast recording? Only the £15 programme. And no, I don't think so. There's lots of interpretations, like the one of the title song, that wouldn't work out of context.

Why does ATG sell all the return tickets at £250 regardless of the original price point of the ticket?? There are loads of returns for tomorrow evening and I would have loved to go, but definitely not for £250. I watched the returns page diligently this week and didn’t find that was the case. Most “returns” seemed to be £250 tickets in the same couple of rows, which I assume are some form of house seats they release last minute if not taken since they were the same for most performances and dropped in bulk. I also saw a couple of £90, one £50 and a few £120 tickets pop up in smaller quantities but they didn’t stay up for long. I managed to bag a couple of cheaper (but not cheap!) returns for yesterday’s matinee at 12.30pm so was at the Playhouse within the hour and was blown away by the production. Redmayne is incredible. The intensity and precision he gives the role are spectacular, and the energy from the whole cast is captivating. Staging and choreography is also on point, as is the transformation of the theatre - it really feels like an exclusive purpose built venue. Jessie Buckley wasn’t on, so we got Emily Benjamin who was phenomenal. Clearly channeling Buckley in her interpretation, but with a real rawness and vulnerability. Absolutely loved her performance, and can’t believe she’s officially a swing - such talent to be able to cover Sally Bowles so effectively whilst also presumably covering various ensemble tracks. That said, I do think this is Redmayne’s vehicle and I can’t see it lasting too long without him unless they strike gold with his replacement, especially if they’re reliant on high ticket prices to keep it afloat.

So yet another two show day where Jessie has only done one of them (I assume she was on last night?). Is this now the norm for her final month in the show? Clearly the dates won’t be advised ahead of people seeing the cast board when they arrive (if they seek it out), so this does highlight the perceived deception by the producers - assuming it’s scheduled absence of course.

How many shows has Jessie Buckley not been on for then?

She didn’t do either show yesterday or Friday evening: It was obviously scheduled to an extent given the West End Covers shared the info, but I do think the show’s official website/social channels have been very poor at information in general (not just cast replacements)

Will Jessie be on tomorrow night? I'll be furious if she's out with the money I spent on this show.

She hasn't missed consecutive shows otherwise, and maybe half a dozen in total overall.

Ah, thank you guys, I’d not seen that West End Covers tweet. Perhaps it was a scheduled long weekend off, or she could of course be unwell.

I.e. they knew/decided in advance she wouldn’t be there all of Saturday. Even if she called out ill on Friday, the decision was taken ahead of time for her not to play Saturday but not relayed to the public in any official way. If anyone wants to ensure she’s on before they watch the show, the box office was the only sure fire way we could find - we checked and they told us Redmayne would be on and Buckley would be off a few hours before the performance.

Most “returns” seemed to be £250 tickets in the same couple of rows Oh I'm glad you found that to be different. I saw returns for back of dress, front of stalls, back of stalls and front of dress and they were all at the same price point. If there are indeed cheaper returns I will definitely be watching more diligently so I can try and snag one of those.

Any word on whether we'll get a cast recording with this cast? Jessie was out when I saw it the other night and I'm very curious about some of her choices compared to Emily's (who, I must say, was absolutely stunning in the role).

Seeing as how Covid tests will no longer be free, will they continue requiring them for entry? I’m confused as to what the new rules will mean moving forward here.

Seeing as how Covid tests will no longer be free, will they continue requiring them for entry? I’m confused as to what the new rules will mean moving forward here. I expect they'll assess closer to the 1 April date depending on case rate. They may adjust and go down to vaccine passports as a condition of entry. I guess when folks have already paid so much for tickets, 3/4 quid for a test might be water on a ducks back...

Buckley is out until Wednesday. So Buckley is just not doing her shows any more is that it? Would be nice to have some sort of announcement about her missing all these shows. Her name is above the title and I paid hundreds to see her in this. It’s really poor form if I’m honest. Any reason as to her absences?
