Probably people get to the front of the queue and think sod that, I'm not paying those prices. Yes, that's what I was thinking, too. Or people saw the number in front of them in the queue and dropped out immediately. At least 50 people a minute were dropping out of the queue. And I, too, bought ticket insurance for the first time.

Went for January...thought I was looking at the matinee but it was for the night when they came thru...ooops, stalls H £70, was surprised at how many tickets had already gone, or maybe weren't on sale yet?

Got the £50 Stalls J seats.. so the last row. Hopefully they're not too bad. Definitely not going to pay those crazy table prices!

I think all I’ll be able to afford is the cheapest seats lol! Hopefully the view isn’t so bad but I can’t really find that out because of the unfamiliar venue

But..... wasn't it exciting being in a queue and starting to panic in case you got thrown out and finally buying some overpriced tickets. I miss those days so good to be back.

Still in the queue but tbh given the prices plus train tickets I think I might hold off to see if there are offers later in the year.

Well @kevin and distantcousin I said it tongue in cheek 😀 I hate it and doesn't do my stress levels any good either.

I had something like 2700 and a 50 minute wait. It’s moving pretty quickly now though, must be a mix of people on half hour lunches and people getting through and going “how much?!”

They've definitely got more rows on sale now than there were first thing this morning.
Still no queue if you're an ATG member and log in through that account.

Crashed when I was checking out. Seat gone when I finally got back in. Nature's way of telling me to forget it, I suppose.

The ticket prices are an utterly tone-deaf piss take!!
having seen it a few times in the past, I'll have to sit this out - have never paid more than £70 for a West End ticket in nearly 30 years of theatre going!!

I've tried again, different payment method, getting a blank screen at the end of checkout with the atg verify in the bar at the top.

Got £50 tickets for mid week December matinee - I have a feeling I am more likely than not to see at least one of the main stars absent but fingers crossed not.

Got a pretty stacked couple of months at the end of the year for shows so went for a Saturday night at the end of January so I have something to look forward to in what is basically the crappiest month of the year.
A combination of the prices and not knowing who is doing the ‘gourmet’ food meant that I gave the tables a miss but I got a stalls ticket, (also row E.) I had to book the two glasses of champagne and a ‘platter’ bundle to actually buy it but I thought what the hell, how many shows have been cancelled since last year, and I’m a grown man, I can drink two glasses of champers without having an irresistible urge to run on stage and start dancing (I hope)

People complaining about the ticket prices are forgetting one of the stars is up and coming and the other is Hollywood A-List. That alone means people will pay, as is obvious from the current state of the ticket sales. From leafing through a load of the dates there didn't appear to be whole rows held off sale, so it is mostly demand.
Yes, the prices are ridiculous, but that is the current market. Given the actors involved I suspect discounts for this are rather unlikely unless you are willing to try a lottery or get up and queue at the crack of dawn. This is event theatre, not just any old show.

Ended up going for row E also, but off to the side a bit where you’re not forced into buying food/drinks packages. Just hope it’s a half decent view now.

This is event theatre, not just any old show. Agree. I think we all knew that this was going to be an "event" so prices would be reflective. Eddie Redmayne was never going to be cheap. Plus the prices of the most expensive seats are for the full package with food and drinks included. I've managed to get dress circle for £75 which is no more than any similar seat in the West End and if you are on a budget there are seats for £20. Currently stalls and dress circle for Hairspray are £150 and you don't even get a can of Hairspray thrown in.

I've also gone for Dress Circle for £70 and no-one behind me so I can lean if I have to. If I love it then I might get another ticket later, but we'll see.

Same here - £40 seat midweek mat, but I'm a bit worried about that now! I believe when the show went on tour a few years ago every midweek matinee saw one of the leads have a performance off as both only did 15 shows per every two weeks. Who knows if it’s the same here. If it’s been planned like that they should mention it - Shows do sometimes do that for holiday absences.

I think that's a fantastically made point. Three seats (as I bought earlier) should not be the same as a mortgage payment. Subjective though it is, at £50 for upper circle tickets, folk are being priced out / price gouged. Personally, I think Jessie Buckley will be the highlight of this production. I guess that knocks Carrie Hope Fletcher out of the running when awards season comes round... ;-)

Went for 2 x row A tickets in the upper circle… I’m a bit nervous about these and wonder if I should have pushed the boat out a little for a more reasonable seats… I just sort of panicked when I got through to booking! Ahhh
I love Cabaret and have seen the Will Young and Alan Cummings emcee versions as well as various touring casts… Let’s hope it happens!

So, what time have people been assigned to get there? I’m apparently supposed to arrive at the Basement via the Stage Door at 6.30, but whether I do show up that early or not will depend what the preshow entertainment element is.
