So is this production worth seeing? Loved the production at the Palladium & love the show so it would be good to see it again but have heard varying opinions on quality!

I would say no. I went in with an open mind, as I do love a reimagining. But it just didn't work for me. It brought nothing new really (that was worthwhile)

Well I enjoyed it and thought it was excellent but I never say any other version, so? I mean if you haven't already seen it the only way that you will know whether it's worth watching it is by watching it....if it's close by and you can reasonably priced tickets why not? Of course it's great to read peoples opinions on a show but they will never be able to tell you what you yourself will think of something. I've gone to things people ripped to shreds on here and really liked it and then gone to things that people were giving 5 stars to left and right and didn't get what the hype was about. It's so individual. Should you go see something or not based off a few other peoples opinions? I don't think so. Another thing is given that, other than the two returnee's, the cast will be different, which gives a different energy to the version people saw at Curve originally automatically (and some of the criticism was the cast) , the set and staging will probably have to be slightly different now it's touring ect...it's not going to feel exactly the same show. My preference would always be to gives shows the benefit of the doubt.

Would say no if you've seen the Palladium version - it really is quite poor in comparison (and don't get me started on the choreo) |

Thanks all for the comments. Difficult to decide when I loved the Palladium version so much. Sometimes best to stick with the original memory but I'll keep an open mind and wait for the rest of the cast to be announced.

I'd like to see this but prices are a bit expensive.
Lots of tickets available so I suspect discounts will be popping up.
I'm not aware of Saddler's Wells usually doing massive discounts. Any ideas? Maybe day tickets at Tkts?

Just got back from first preview. Very similar to the original run. Few changes here and there mostly to the costumes and a much larger use of cameras then there was in the first run (the screen from evita has returned). Zach also does the dance so leading into one reprise now.

Still a bit mixed tbh. Sheila much better she she was her hair in a ponytail now but they’ve now put maggie and val in blonde wigs that they didn’t have before (val has a headband now and longer hair maggie similar but without the headband) the only reason I can think for this is they didn’t want three characters having similar hairstyles which would have been the case if they hadn’t changed maggie and vals from the first run |
