I wonder why they had to postpone The Wizard Of Oz or decided to?
I have to say I worry slightly if this will bring the punters in though.

I suspect they are doing this because it’s cheaper than most other musicals to stage. Can just be done on an empty stage for 99% of it and costume wise it’s pretty simple. Bit of sparkle at the end.
I’m sure it will do fine if there’s someone off the telly in the cast somewhere.

Do productions have to keep the original choreography? I'm fairly sure Chorus Line, Fiddler and West Side Story were the three that throughout history required original choreography, and Chorus Line is the only one where that's still the case... (As we've had new choreo versions of the other two)

No - whilst you can choose to use the original choreography - not all productions have to. There have been several UK regional productions which haven't - including at Sheffield Crucible directed by a very young Nikolai Foster - which had choreography by Karen Bruce.
Most times (even with Fiddler on the Roof and West Side Story) the mandatory use has usually been only with regard to Broadway/West End or Number One Tours - whilst regional production have been able to do their own thing. That said there's very often a billing requirement to credit the original director/choreographer even if you aren't using their work.

Robbins and subsequently his Estate are particularly vociferous about his billing on any production of his greatest Director/Choreographer works. His billing always has to be the same size as the writers (book, music and lyrics) and no-one from the revival creative team is allowed to have greater prominence. Hence the reason why he receives two billings for the recent Broadway revival of West Side Story - one of which is in a box - even though neither the direction or choreography bares resemblance to his original work. Obviously his contribution to the success of WSS can't ever be downplayed.
I suspect it's the same with Michael Bennett's works - though I haven't got my Dreamgirls programme at hand to check whether that was the case.

I must admit a visit to the Curve isn't as appealing as it once was thanks to their new layout with extra rows, reduced legroom and one large block of seats in the stalls. With the old layout, I probably would have booked this but I'm not as motivated to make the effort now, especially considering it takes longer to get to Leicester by train from Liverpool than it does to reach London!

Try the central rows N,O or P as they are shorter and even the aisle seats are quite central to the stage, leg room is better as well due to the rows having some disabled seating as part of them. It would be a shame to miss the show over something like this if there is a way to get around it, especially at a time when I imagine they will need all the punters they can!

Tonight's Sunday Night is Music Night is a repeat of the tribute to Marvin Hamlisch first broadcast in 2012...when it would have been Friday Night is Music Night.
Larry Blank, BBC Concert Orchestra, Capital Voices, Sharon D Clarke, Louise Dearman, Tim Rice and Bob Avian.
Radio 2 from 7 to 9pm, then on BBC Sounds.

When I saw A Chorus Line at Oxford Old Fire Station Theatre in 2019 (a five star amateur production) a lady with a clipboard, paper and pen sat next to me in the front row just before curtain up. I first assumed she was a reviewer but she was actually playing the Director. It made my visit extra-special to sit next to a leading performer throughout a musical. Loved the show and will definitely be at Leicester Curve.
Is that a usual set up for A Chorus Line or was I just lucky ?
