So what did Patrick Ryecart do that was better? I would have said 'Poldark' but that could just be bias due to the lovely Aidan Turner. And his lovely hair. And lovely pecs. Oh my. Sorry, the manopause is coming over me again. |

I thought Forbes Masson was great in The Ruling Class, really looking forward to this. He was never better than when he was in 'The High Life'. In fact, neither Alan Cumming, Forbes Masson nor Siobhan Redmond have ever reached those sublime heights since in their careers for my money. Piff Paff Poff. Oh I loved 'The High Life'. Still think of it whenever I watch the Good Wife. And I practically had to physically restrain a friend of mine from shouting out catchphrases from it when we saw Alan Cumming wandering around in London some years ago! |

Alan Cumming as Mephistopheles in this as well as Forbes Masson, not THAT would be a show to see : 'Ah deary me!' |

One of the most memorable theatre moments of my teenage years was Alan Cummings as Dionysius, nude, suspended upside down from the ceiling.

I was a huge fan of Victor & Barry when I was at uni in Glasgow, the predecessors of their Alan and Forbes's characters in The High Life. A few years back I met Alan Cumming at a charity event and -gratifyingly - made him laugh by quoting one of his old jokes back at him. I asked him if V&B would ever be revived and he said it was unlikely but "watch this space" for a possible musical version of The High Life. Still watching, Alan... |

I still say 'It pishing pished down the whole tiiimme' when recounting holiday weather (or just weather in this country) I would give all my money to see Forbes and Alan do Faustus.
I love Forbes though and do love how much Jamie Lloyd uses him too.

I have only one thing to say about the brilliant High Life - "lights down the aisle" (with appropriate gestures). Shame Cummings seems to have been lost to the US.

Really looking forward to this. Not big on GoT so the star didn't attract me specifically, but the superb supporting cast, with Jamie Lloyd directing, is an enticing proposition. It may fall flat on its face, but even if it does, it will be an interesting failure.

I'm sure everyone is aware but just in case, don't forget Monday 2nd May is a bank holiday in case that has any effect on you buying tickets for this show on that date.
