Within the space of two minutes,I have just read that the wonderful Artrix in Bromsgrove is closing down and that theatremonkey has left the board! I am absolutely gutted on both counts. Thank you, theatremonkey for your brilliance! Your encyclopaedic knowledge of the WE is totally unsurpassed anywhere.I always check your site for theatre seating information and when my family go on our trips from Brum to the WE I always take your book with me as a valuable reference.Sir,you are a legend! Thank you for your hard work as a mod,for being one of the founding fathers of the site, for your brilliantly witty posts which often made me laugh out loud, your readiness to help with individual queries at all times and for your kindness and generosity of spirit. So long, farewell, auf wiedershen,goodbye.....and sincere thanks.

It always felt like a badge of honour when the Theatre Monkey liked one of my posts. (no offence to the other admins!)
This is a hard time for all of us theatre lovers, I can't wait until normal service is resumed.

Thanks for all your advice and witty posts over the years. Theatremonkey.com will always be the site to go to for all theatre related enquires and info for those ticket deals. All the best for the future and best wishes in your future projects. You will be greatly missed from this board.

TM is an invaluable resource for anyone with even a passing interest in theatre, and has saved me incalculable amounts of money over the years. It taught me, if nothing else, to stop being obsessed with the premium seats and learn to love a true bargain.
As a forum member, they were always very friendly, helpful and gregarious. A true Theatreforum legend. I don't know the Monkey in real life but I wish them all the best and hope they're as okay as they can be x

What a shock - I was smiling from a TM like of one of my posts just yesterday!
This all seems so sudden but I'm sure there is a good reason behind it, though I wish it weren't happening. All I can say is thank you TM, I will continue using your site and promoting it to everyone I know!
Such a shame that all TM's posts have been deleted - I presume that was the monkey's choice, but sad nonetheless that we don't have their wonderfully witty contributions to look back on.

This is very sad news. I've never felt so attached to something so hairy .. As we all know, Mr Monkey has the keenest theatrical judgement and a hugely generous nature, both will be hugely missed hereabouts. I hope it's not a binary decision and that the board will continue to enjoy at least occasional contributions. Whatever you decide, things really won't be the same; thank you for so much

Really really sad to read this, especially with no reason given. Hope there hasn't been a falling out. Hope he is well but the board won't be the same. Take care, TM.

Nothing to add to what others have said above but I echo all the positives. And though this isn't actually the worst thing happening at present, to me it feels closer to home than anything else due to what the unique and irreplaceable theatremonkey means to us here.

So sorry to hear the news. You were a great mod and I loved your posts, humour and support. Your website is a must go to for me and I never book anything without having the relevant page open to check on best seats.
I wish you all the best and hopefully see you return in the not too distant future.

Oh no. This is really sad news. I hope nothing is wrong.
I agree with so many posts, I never book to see any show without the TM pages open, and I'm so relieved I'm not the only one who felt a little jolt of joy to read TM had liked one of my posts.
When I joined here, I was surprised and so happy to see THE Theatre Monkey as a mod on here and posting and everything. I had used the website for so many years, it was like having contact with a real life celebrity!
Thank you for everything, but I do hope this isn't the end of TM posting here.
