So there's good availability for Woyzeck too? Good this wasn't announced during the height of the Star Wars hype. Old Vic website shows "Woyzeck" as moved back to "Sat 6 May – Sat 24 Jun 2017" from "25 Feb to 15 April 2017," so booking may be in a state of flux for a bit. |

I just sent a furious tweet about that to the Old Vic. Not a single email regarding the dates being moved, considering those that have booked so far are members it is shocking service.

That is v. poor communication - the website has the new dates with no explanation, and the only tweet mentioning it is a reply to someone else's tweet (which by default doesn't appear in their twitter timeline)

Can members still book at the moment? Maybe booking is temporarily suspended because of this rescheduling until ticketholders have been contacted?

They say "they are in the process of contacting anyone who's been affected".
Presumably the scheduling conflict is either because John Boyega's Star Wars filming has been rescheduled or Jack Thorne is busy rewriting Harry Potter

Very painless start to public booking and was able to get my normal bargain pillar seats for Lear and Woyzeck!
Seemed to let me book without a queue as I was on the booking site and logged in before public booking opened.

Any tips for a cheapish but good seat for King Lear? Go for the seats at the edge of row Q in the stalls - Q3 or Q34. They are "behind a slim pillar" but it's not a major restriction, just need to move your head a bit. They are £21 and all the surrounding seats are £55. Bargain! Plus you're in pole position to get to the bar and/or bogs at the interval. |

Nabbed a restricted view seat in the Dress Circle for £16. Strangely this was the only one at £16, as the other pillar seats were now £50. Does that mean the view is truly awful? I can't remember which one I sat in earlier but it was totally fine.

I tend to go for the restricted end one on the front row of the dress circle (A7). You have to look through the safety rail, but it's not too annoying. Plus added bonus of not having muppets sat in front of you.

I almost always go for C26 in the dress circle. £16 because it's behind a pillar, but because I'm relatively small, I can sit myself at such an angle that the pillar doesn't get too much in my way. And it's a narrow pillar. And it's DELICIOUS knowing that you've only paid £16 and the person next to you has paid much much more but isn't sitting any nearer the stage.

Also twice when I've been sat there I've been moved along the row into a better seat when the show started due to latecomers etc! |

I always sit in those. Even better, there is no seat directly behind, so you can move your head to look past the pillar, without worrying anyone. Q3 and P5&6 in front. Hopefully combined should be a good view and average out at quite a bargain! |

Thank you for the seating information given on the last couple of pages. Had totally forgot this was on sale, but managed to nab a row Q for Lear just now - had to try a few dates but never mind, the fact that I'm seeing Glenda Jackson on stage is absolutely bonkers and brilliant for me.

Forgive me if it has already been discussed somewhere,
But it appears that Woyzeck is in fact booking from 6th May to 24th June 2017, despite initially being announced for 25th Feb to 15th Apr 2017.
So that means the Old Vic is currently dark between the end of Art (18th February) and the start of Woyzeck (6th May). Is there anything planned for this time frame? I.e. One of the other announced productions (R&G Are Dead, Fanny and Alexander, HMS Pinafore, or maybe even The Lorax as it is a returning production)?
To be honest, another couple of months of Groundhog Day would be ideal! But unlikely, of course.

Yes, this was discussed here months ago.
The Old Vic hasn't announced that it will be dark for over two months! - just not yet announced their plans for that period.
