Have mixed thoughts on the new season. I also think they £10 previews is not as good as the £12 young people's tickets under Spacey. If they started to put a matinee or two into the preview period, brilliant, but it limits people at the moment to a handful or two of evening shows.
'Art', Woyzeck, R&G sound great. The casting for King Lear is making it start to sound like a bit of a circus. But at the moment other than the Beckett play I'm not sure how different it sounds to a Spacey season: big plays and big names.

It appears that the Old Vic may have already responded to this feedback as King Lear has a Saturday matinee preview instead of the usual evening show. And Jekyll & Hyde has a Tuesday matinee preview, so rejoice! |

Didn't they only just change the logo and website? I thought they changed the logo recently as I seem to recall them saying the crown was going as crowns were seen as elitist. Joe Punter was apparently put off going to the Old Vic by a logo. They can change the frippery all they like, its whats on stage that counts in the long run |

I see if you go to book it lists the dates but i can't see where it says which count as previews. |

This page explains all! The gist is that the first five previews of every show (except the community production and one-off variety nights) have at least half the seats at £10 released at noon on the Monday five weeks before the first preview. And you can even sign up for e-mail reminders of each show.

Thanks Peggs, after reading your post, I've just re-checked the Old Vic website and you are quite right that they have now changed the Sat 29 preview back to the usual evening only, instead of the matinee only which it was earlier today and yesterday. |

Does anyone know how long Jekyll & Hyde will be? The Old Vic has said Twitter that running time is TBC, but is currently thought to be about two hours including an interval. |

No explicit casting yet for Art, but here's the website blurb: 'Art premiered in London twenty years ago ... Matthew Warchus reunites the ENTIRE ORIGINAL TEAM to revisit Yasmina Reza's classic study...' (my caps). Taken at face value, that means Albert Finney, Tom Courtenay and Ken Stott. Do they really mean this? The first two are around 80 now - but then Judi has just done a West End stint at the same age.

Yep, I'd say "team" refers to creatives, otherwise they'd make mention of the cast.
By the by, I'm a little concerned at how comparatively few performances of King Lear there are. Is anyone here a friend of the Old Vic? Do you think it's worth investing £35 for a year?

I'm not sure about seeing Art again. I saw the tour with Nigel Havers, Roger Lloyd Pack and Barry Foster and it was an excellent play, but once seen not sure a revisit would have the same power.
I wonder who they will get this time?

Thanks! Maybe it's because it's half a century away? I know I'll probably have to book when public booking opens but right now I'm really reluctant to tie myself up for a London trip in spring 2017 already. That said, Woyzeck was one of my worst theatrical experiences in Germany ever, so I need to exorcise that ghost.

As Baemax says below, crazy booking fees - £10.90 on top price stalls or £14.90 on premium seats.
So stuff them! If you're booking more than 2 tickets it would be cheaper to buy Old Vic membership to get priority booking.
