They cut out Rapunzel's pregnancy too. Disney probably didn't want to actually imply what her and the Prince were doing in that tower.

The reason her twins were important was because it parallels the cycle of the story.

I know it was a bit of a marmite production but the stripped back Fiasco Theatre production that was at the Menier in 2016 provokes happy memories in this house.

I liked the addition of the Blue Moon that was used in the film as the slotted spoon, knotted rope etc do slow the pace down from characters that I don't care about.

I would be interested in seeing 'she'll be back' as I've never seen it live. Although I think the original plot device is much stronger.

What ever happens as long as Our little world is included I'll be a happy woodsman.

The Opera North production at the WYP was very good. They set it in a classroom which transformed into the wood. Good performances too.

I wish the film had treated the different stories as if they were in different worlds, so that it made the coming together more of a clash' What am I doing, I'm in the wrong story' has always been one of my favourite lines. I have in my possession a film treatment from a major studio for the movie from about twenty years ago, that would have been so hated. So glad it didn't get made.

I loved the Sondheim at 80 Prom. Hopefully they could recreate the formula and perhaps include the recent SITPWG suite that the NY Phil played on New Year's Eve #Fingerscrossed

I love INTO THE WOODS, so would see this, even though I have seen it at both the Royal Exchange and the Fiasco one at the Menier. I enjoyed the former, and loved the latter. Maybe this is a commercial run in a West End house, with some celebrity casting. Maybe Emily Blunt reprising her Baker’s Wife to make her West End. One can dream!

Here’s hoping the rumours of MERRILY also turn out to be true. Would love it to be at the Curve.

They are announcing their 2020 in house productions next Monday so if it is, not long to wait, however i don't feel like Merrily is a Curve type choice. I could be wrong though! Watch me eat my words next Monday lol!

Well, my first exposure to Sondheim was Theatr Clwyd's production of Merrily We Roll Along. Which was directed by some bloke called Nikolai Foster...

Oh yes, i'm aware he's done it before, but that was at a different venue. If you look at the shows Curve does, especially for it's Christmas Musical which is their main one of the year normally, it would usually be something a bit more known by the masses than something like Merrily.  I suppose they could do it in the summer though like they did with The Color Purple, that was quite a bold choice for them i thought.

I'll be interested to see what they do as it's my local and i always support them so i'll be glued to social media and the live stream of the launch to see what they will be bringing us this year.  ACL again seems a bit of a departure for them if that turns out to be true.

After seeing Follies, I’d love to see NT do Pacific Overtures next as that is so rarely performed and hasn’t been done here in a while.

I’d also like to see Merrily or Forum as a concert version in Cadogan Hall with a full line-up of West End favs.

It’s a pity the Queens was the theatre changed to the Sondheim as I would’ve loved to see a Sondheim at the Sondheim. Les Mis will never leave that place sadly.

Mr Barnabys comments about it being "major" and having your credit card ready makes me think west end revival, maybe following Sunday in the Park into the Savoy?

Bridge - I think Woods runs at around 3hrs. It would be a lot for a promenade performance. Doable but...

Donmar - they staged it in 1998. I don't see a reason why they wouldn't have another go at it.

I think he's got a big enough library of shows that you could easily have a Sondheim every year and it wouldn't be a problem. I guess the issue is how many revivals are simultaneous and how little a lot of the lesser played shows like Forum, Pacific Overtures etc. get done.
