The ones shown don’t look too bad, to be fair. Restricted view seats at the ends of the front rows for the pantomime were shocking, facing a piece of false proscenium which you had no way of seeing round .

For the performances I looked at, it looks as though they’ve not put the end two seats on either side on sale just yet, for the first few rows in those front corners, so hopefully no one will suffer that fate! |

Is that a massive-treadmill-traveltor-thingy in the rehearsal stage deck in the newly released rehearsal images? Might possibly explain why the front row is so restricted if this has to be built on top of the Palladium deck!

I know she has an impressive turn-out record but do we know if IS has an understudy for this? Keen to see the production (as it's done rarely) but she just leaves me cold (just a personal view).

They’ll probably be covering IS and JR. |

There has to be an understudy, but as has been said, Imelda rarely misses.
I think she only missed 3 performances of Gypsy (a Friday and Saturday of the same weekend) and didn’t miss at all in Follies, I don’t think.

They’ve just announced a £20 ticket scheme for young people for this… 15,000 tickets available across the run for those aged 16-30. Book on LW Theatres site, ID check on arrival. Nice scheme if you qualify!

Rather like Old Friends though, I suspect Hello, Dolly isn’t a musical / show 16-30s are generally familiar with, so how successful the offer is remains to be seen. |

Great idea and hope it goes well. But I'm not sure that age group is Hello Dolly material. More likely to be the Heather's, Six, Evan Hansen crowd.

As Michael Harrison said in his press release at the time they announced the run at the Palladium - this is an expensive show to put on for only 10 weeks so they had to go high.
Always assumed they'd have to come down/put offers in, but I don't blame them for going high to begin with to try to cover as much of the money it's cost to put on as possible.

Yeah she doesn't go off, and Carol Channing proved for years you don't really need to be able to sing to play Dolly (I'm kidding...kinda) so I figure she'll be on barring injury

I have a specific matinee slot when I plan to see this, so I was nervous about relying on a day seat. I've settled for a side stalls seat which was dynamically priced so far as I can tell £40 down on its usual level. I'm assuming it's because someone had managed to leave a single..time will tell how good the view is.

The young people rate was available from the beginning of the ticket sales. Less seats and less age range though.

It's interesting that it talks about the £20 tickets and the evidence you need to produce to be eligible.
If you click on that link, it offeres you tickets at £20 and also £45. The £45 tickets are at least £30 less than the normal price. The enail specifically mentioned the £20 tickets, nothing about the £45 ones and there's nothing in the T&C's either.
Despite being older than the 16-30 age range, I got 2 great stalls seats and saved myself £60!
