For £20 I’m tempted but the LW Theatres site says ‘Severely restricted view. Please be aware you will need to look up to the stage from this seat. Some key moments in the production will not be fully visible.’ Is it worth risking it? Totally worth it - it's just over the price of a glass of wine at the bar... |

When they released front row for Wizard of Oz for £20 they ended up having reprice them to £10 as it was SO bad so I'm actually gonna hold my nerve and wait.

My memory was Wizard of Oz starting at around £80-90, then reduced to £10 and ended up at £20? But I could well be mixing that up with another show. Either way, I've booked early enough in the run that if it's that woeful I can book another date in the gods. I'll enjoy the orchestra!

Thank you zahidf and ceebee - the photos on Seatplan (even from Wizard of Oz) don’t look too bad so I’m booked! A Sat night performance for £20 can’t be bad. And I’ll only get FOMO nearer the time when everyone on here is raving about how good Imelda is otherwise…

Bit the bullet and booked front row for the very first performance. If first preview gets cancelled? meh! If the stage is too high? Meh, will go again! If Imelda cradles me like a baby as I softly weep? Meh!

Booked dead centre for my night. Should be better than the seats at the side. Hopefully I'll be safe if Imelda starts attacking the front row... I stopped booking front row after me and my friend got hit in the face by a pair of shoes mid-Master of the House at Les Mis!  |

Hopefully Imelda won’t throw any footwear at you… About the seats, or the shoe-flinging incident? I'll make sure to take some photos; I booked for the fifth or sixth preview, I'll have to check. I am literally dead centre (A13, A12) with my friend so we'll see. If you mean that incident... It was the day of or the day before New Years Eve, 2022, and I went down to Les Mis with the same friend after a lecture, cus I believe the seats were like £50 which we jumped at. We sat at the far left hand seats, front row. I don't remember the scene well, but during Master of the House, there's a bit near the end where they're throwing objects off stage to a door down left, and (I think?) Thenardier just... overshot! Someone on staff came over in the interval to confirm we weren't injured or anything, said to make it up to us we could have a drink, but I got a packet of Maltesers instead. Lesson learnt for a while there..! At that same performance someone let out a full-on banshee scream when the gun went off in the scene with Valjean and Javert, so it was an action-packed performance all-round! Enough of that, back to maybe seeing the top half of Hello Dolly..! |

That’s a great story blamerobots, thanks for filling us in! As for the gun going off in Les Mis, even though I’ve seen it multiple times and know it’s coming, it STILL makes me jump!
And I booked A12 for Dolly too, so yes, please do report back - I’m there a night or two after you I think.

Single seats are already being discounted - booked dress circle for £25 for first preview. Figured I'd compromise distance from stage with being able to see it all!

For any who prefer to hedge their bets ahead of front row reviews, the front row seats are £23 on TodayTix plus £2 to make it fully cancellable until the day of.

That doesn’t look too bad compared to Wizard of Oz. Just as long as they stay near the front.
But I don’t get why every show Michael Harrison puts on in the Palladium does this. Why continually have designs that restrict views from loads of seats?
I wonder if this one will have an incredibly limited set that somehow still manages to cause loads of show stops? 🙄

I’ve booked but am not expecting it to be perfect. However the orchestra pit hopefully puts a bit of distance between row A and the stage so we won’t be looking up noses too much, all being well.
Plus for the price and to avoid people’s heads spoiling my view I think it’ll be worth it. I’ve had many experiences where I’ve sat in ‘premium’ seats 8/10 rows back in centre stalls but then found the rake isn’t sufficient to give a completely clear view.

Especially since front row there used to be one of my favourite spots for Sound of Music and Sister Act back in the day, so we know it *can* be a very decent view. |
