Tonight’s performance cancelled due to a cast member losing their voice and all the understudies due to go on. Cancelled at 19:37 which is galling, a bit earlier and I could have got to Hamilton or Wicked. Now at the BFI waiting for a French film and finishing my slushie! Will refunds automatically be issued or do we need to do anything? I had a ticket for last night but couldn’t travel at the last minute so didn’t have a chance to exchange my ticket for another date. Contact your place of purchase - if direct from Other Palace customer.relations@lwtheatres.co.uk

Just a ‘Jake’ missing today, which was read in by the associate director from the front row. It made very little difference to the flow of the piece which was a big noisy nothing to me. Only the character of Michael rang anywhere near true, and his song is the best & most proficiently performed. As with ‘Heathers’ before most of these performers are far too old to be playing school aged. The two ‘Six’ alumni are particularly embarrassing in this respect. Jeremy could just about pass with his wiry frame, and Michael had a sort of boyband-ish youthfulness to him, but really if these things are going to be attempted there really should be some actual youth in the cast.

This is now booking until 1 August rather than 14 June. Not that the new performance dates seem very likely to happen!

I was there on March 14th for the performance that was cancelled due to illness and my rebooked performance is now cancelled too. 3rd time lucky?

It's a shame. I've now had bookings for three different closing nights, but it was not to be. I hope this gets a future life. A small cast, a rabid fan base, a feel-good show and relatively easy to stage again when the time is right.

I was in the theatre on 14/03 when they had to cancel and tried 2 more times.

the other palace is free all summer so maybe a limited summer return?

the other palace is free all summer so maybe a limited summer return? Let's hope the prices are a bit more accessible, I saw it in New York, wasn't a fan but the cast recording did grow on me. I remember TOP being quite pricey.

I imagine the set is still in-tact in the Other Palace, as no good reason to take it out, which is the most expensive part of the production.
Obviously some former cast members, if not all may come back, so no need for lengthy rehearsals. Just saying if those two conditions are met, it wouldn’t be overly expensive to produce again and a no brainier to do again. I guess it will have people coming back who saw it originally and new people who didn’t get a chance like me.

Fingers crossed Stewart Clarke and Blake Patrick Anderson can return if this is coming back. I personally wouldn't rush back for a repeat visit but those two guys were the absolute standouts.

I’m hoping Blake will be up at Hope Mill and not wasting his talents on this nonsense. Don’t think he can do both.

Pretty big Theatre to fill, It didn't always fill The Other Palace.
That said, I really liked the show and glad that it's getting another chance to shine. Any show returning is welcome news.

Such a huge venue for this little show. There will be offers galore for this, but glad I’ll be able to see it again having seen it in New York.

How is this working? Are they removing the Juliet set?
Not sure how the Chill set can just sit on top of that!

How is this working? Are they removing the Juliet set? The set is fixed and the performance area is tiny (based on The Other Palace). So they could probably just portion off part of the stage, keep the other set concealed and make this work.

It was a pretty cheap-looking production to begin with anyway to be fair.... it was only a couple of the lead performances that made it noteworthy for me.

Tickets on sale now via the Shaftesbury Website. They're not selling the Upper Circle so some £20 seats at back of the Stalls/Dress seem pretty decent value.

It's just a filler show until &Juliet returns, but it's great to give an opportunity to a smaller show like this, and must be a dream come true for everyone involved with it.

What is the point in opening this in such a colossal theatre? The set will look terrible there. Wouldn’t this be better off in a re-opened Other Palace?

The whole thing seems like a big waste of time and money.
