Well I saw this at the gala performance and got a squib zone seat.
Overall, I can see people love this, however I thought it was taking cues from little shop and Evan hansen and it didn’t work for me. Only one interesting and memorable song and too much stompy dancing.
Think I just didn’t connect with the teen angst of it all really, but the cast give it their all. Shout of to the best friend and “Michael in the bathroom” is an absolute highlight for me. One I would not go see again.
I should have got drunk before seeing it I think lol

Can someone who’s been in the Squip zone (front row) tell me what the exclusive collectible is for London? I know on Broadway it was a different pin badge every month, only it doesn’t go into details on the website when booking. Thanks in advance xx From the second row, it looked like people at the front had a pin, but I couldn’t tell you what was on it. Hey there it’s an exclusive pin and a certificate of authenticity: it has month/year (so it will change monthly I think) and the name of the pin type. |

Could anyone tell me if they are selling any merchandise? Specifically posters? I have emailed The Other Palace but to date have has no response. Thanks in advance. Yes they're selling stacks of merchandise. Don't think I saw posters, but she lives her dream posted video and the price list on her brilliant opening night video - which also has stacks of lovely chats with the cast and creative who are very adorable! |

^On the merch front,you can get the £3 plastic cup with the BMC/TOP logos all over it and if you need a sugar rush then they will fill it with a glowing radioactive-looking red or blue slush for another £2.

I’ve been loath to post my thoughts because everyone else here was loving it but unfortunately I didn’t get on with it. Granted I saw the first preview so I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt but I felt a proportion of the cast were quite weak, with only Blake Patrick Anderson as Michael standing out. |

Made a return visit and ended up in the Squip Zone!
Not totally planned. I was deciding what to see, looked at rush tickets at 10am, couldn't get one and they were sold out within minutes. Checked back about midday and they'd added more tickets. I was offered one towards the edge of the front row, which I took.
I didn't get a pin or certificate, but I did get a £65 seat for £25, so I guess that's fair. It's not a seat I'd recommend for a first viewing, being at the side and with the view sometimes blocked by the staging, but for a return visit it's an interesting angle to see things from.
The show was showing as sold out on the Other Palace website and was full.
A loud and responsive crowd. All the cast are well into their stride now. And, I believe, a full standing ovation with the exception of two men in their 50s sat next to me (which I only know as they exchanged ages with one another, they may have been on a date).
I heard one girl on the way out saying she wanted to marry Michael (not sure if she meant the character or the actor, Blake Patrick Anderson). Somehow, I don't think she has much chance with either! And, there's a queue.
Glad I have more visits booked from when this first went on sale. I don't think rush will be easy for this one.

This show is ALL ABOUT Blake Patrick Anderson. He is superb (and gorgeous) and better than the lead guy.

Looks like the show is extending as TodayTix have tickets on sale until 31st May with their London Theatre Week sale.

Tickets are available through The Other Palace website. London Theatre Direct has tweeted that they have an exclusive, but that isn't the case (and the tickets are more expensive through them than booking directly with The Other Palace). Now have a ticket for the new closing performance (assuming this doesn't extend again).

Don't see why they don't milk this and get the six weeks holidays out of it. I imagine a great bulk of the target audience will benefit.

extending is a safer option for the show than risking a transfer which they'd wait a while due to the lack of available theatres.

I enjoyed this a lot more than I was expecting to! Some of it was a bit too ‘random’ and made me feel a million years old, but there’s lots of solid performances and it’s an all round assault on the senses and I couldn’t help but smile. Quite a few ear worms I haven’t been able to get out of head since too.
The audience were going CRAZY and there were a couple of girls in the premium seats practically standing on heir chairs whenever Renee Lamb was in any close vicinity to the stage which was a bit annoying. I imagine word of mouth is going to spread through the teenage theatre going community like wildfire.

The crowd went mad when i went too. Like, mad. And it was packed to the rafters. I was kinda shocked, i didn't think/know this would be as popular as something like Heathers, which i knew had a big fan base and following, yet honestly the audience and general hype felt even crazier than that. Maybe i'm a bit out of touch.

I'm probably not the target audience, but I felt most of the songs were at least 1 or 2 verses too long and I wasn't particularly impressed with any of the cast with the notable exception of the actor playing Michael whose voice shone for me. That said, it seemed to have a fanatical following and therefore not surprised it has extended if it has been selling well to them.

Tonight’s performance cancelled due to a cast member losing their voice and all the understudies due to go on. Cancelled at 19:37 which is galling, a bit earlier and I could have got to Hamilton or Wicked. Now at the BFI waiting for a French film and finishing my slushie!

I've been twice and both times I was out by 22:05 Right, so I shouldn’t believe the Other Palaces 2hr 15mins then? Definitely not ! I thought I'd comfortably catch the 22.10 train from Victoria on the night I went but missed it by a minute or so. From the front it took a few minutes to get out after the 22.04 finish and I didn't initially realise I had to rush. |
