I hadn't realised all the cast were not doing the whole run as I will miss some of them when I see it in June. From 30 March Rosalie Craig will not perform the role of Gabby/Bobbi on Monday evenings. Theo James, Rosalie Craig and Rob Houchen will be in the show until 30th May Nicola Roberts and Vanessa Williams will be in the show until 25th July Oh fudge! I've booked 30th March, so that means we'll miss Rosalie!  We booked through TodayTixs, has anyone ever needed/changed date when booked through them? If so who would be the best people to speak to? I'd just like to swap to another day if possible, so we don't miss Rosalie! I have asked for an exchange with todaytix in the past and they gave me a voucher thing to rebook for the same show, make sure your quick so you can rebook within the offer |

As the tickets were brought through the London Theatre week offer, they can't exchange or refund them, due to the terms and conditions, which is fair enough. Oh well, possibly means we might be taking 2 trips if we really feel like we want to see Rosalie! Thanks for the advise though, its always worth the ask! |

They take down the date you'd prefer then sort it with the Box Office then relay it back to you. I know some people have had issues with them, but I found them fine to deal with. |

I am sure when I booked it didn't say the cast were on limited runs I checked once I noticed the details, and it does say on both the official website and on TodayTixs, and as soon as someone said it on here, I remembered that it had a strange cast dates. Its my own fault for not checking more, but I'm more interested in the show then the cast! |

The Garrick. It’s a lovely old theatre, but hold onto your drinks when the trains pass underground. There’s charm in the whole shabby cheapness of the place though, but when I’m there I can’t help but think the rent must be cheaper than in other venues. I thought the refurbishment was excellent, and it's now a very pretty little theatre. Sure, the sightlines aren't the greatest, but the decorative features are lovely throughout - the dress circle bar area in particular. You know I can’t actually remember the last time I was there so it’s very possible I haven’t even seen the refurb. So unless Coronavirus gets me, my bum and I look forward to sitting on a seat with actual padding for City of Angels! |

I was sat behind two ladies who brought their tickets last minute, not knowing anything about the show it sounds, and they were bowled over. If it can get the reviews and word of mouth I think it will have a very stellar six month run. |

I was there last night and loved it. Not as perfect as at the Donmar but it was just a first preview.
Rosalie Craig was excellent. I really think she’s pregnant. The tight costumes in this production can’t hide her bump. I think this explains why she is going to take Mondays off and leave the production early.
Fraser and Trehearn are as brilliant as they were at the Donmar. Theo James and Vanessa Williams are both great additions to the cast. Her comic timing is spot on and sounds great in her musical numbers.
Nicola Roberts was just ok for me, she looks the part but her acting is a bit wooden. I’m sure she’ll get better. Maybe I’m being harsh but Samantha Barks was truly great and a difficult memory to erase.
Jonathan Slinger acted well but his singing voice is poor. Again I couldn’t help but remembering how wonderful Peter Policarpou was in that part.
Overall, a great night and look forward to seeing it again.

Avoid rear stalls. Set and projections are on two levels and you will be even more confused by the plot!
Busy production with great acting which helps cover a weak set of songs.
Overtures were created for a reason, they put the melodies in your ear so they are familiar when the song appears. Like most of the audience (Not last nights one) the music was mostly unfamiliar to me. Even the big no only works first time around as the second time minimises the fine keyboard riff that drives You're nothing without me. Rebecca Trehorne steals the show with a knockout You can always count on me. Most of the rest of the score is entirely........
PS Ms Craig is either a very cool fish or she decided that Gabby has a similar range of emotions to Bobbi (x2).
Despite the cold water above, we enjoyed the show and if the right price tickets come up, a second visit might be on the cards.

Overall I really enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to a second visit.
Going in blind I knew absolutely nothing about the show other than a memory of "part of the show being black and white and part of it being colour" from somewhere - I absolutely loved this. The set design/lighting/projection worked really well and I'd like to see it again from the stalls (I was in the Grand Circle).
The score went over my head - though I did think Rebecca Trehearn's big number was fab - I'm a fan of a showstopper and I love it when the sound designer blows the speakers for the last note which wasn't done (Though could have been my seat) so that's my only bugbear.
I thought Vanessa Williams was brilliant. I could just close my eyes and listen to her speak/sing. She has such a fantastic, distinctive voice.
I don't know if it's just me but I thought Rosalie was a bit hit and miss which is a massive shame as I LOVED her in Company. May just be that she wasn't the leading lady.

No. From memory perhaps 5, although three happen at once. They were not very loud so I assume recorded. If you've seen The Comedy About A Bank Robbery those gunshots are extremely loud and live and the gunshots last night were nothing like that, I didn't jump out of my skin. So I would say recorded. |

Was on the second row last night, and loved every minute. A great night at the theatre.
An incredibly sexy and stylish show.
Not a weak link in the cast, Theo James really surprised me at how well he can sing. Nicola Roberts sang beautifully, acting wasn't unreal, but still good. Also giggled at the french joke, was wondering if it had been put in, as it seemed to be too coincidental! Vanessa Williams is a great addition to the cast, stellar comic timing and a fine voice. But of course the experienced MT actors stole the show. Rebecca, Rosalie and Hadley eat this up. Was also great to see Rosalie playing a Bobbi again, even if it's in a different capacity....
The set was good, but do think you need to be able to see the top level, quite a bit goes on up there. Only one or two little teething issues, I could see stage hands in the wings trying to fix something, but it did roll out in time! Lighting was nice, and the noir/colour is quite a fun gimmick running throughout the show. The projections were nice, and not overused. Considering it was a first preview, it was incredibly slick. The cast will only get tighter, and this show will get stronger and stronger. I personally loved the jazz style of music, and the angel city 4 borrowed themselves beautifully to it. I do think if you're not paying attention you can easily get lost in this story, I didn't but can see older types getting confused. Two older ladies were discussing the story on the way out, one didn't realise the black and white parts were supposed the be the film!
I hope the critics are kind to this, don't see how they can maul it. It really is a stellar show! Deserves a nice run.
Goodness there must be some amount of cigarettes smoked in this. Don't think there's one scene without one!
Hope to return at some point later in the run.
The stage is just under eye level from the front row. If you don't mind looking up the front row is a bargain. If the tickets for there are still £20, I'd run to get them before word gets around. It wouldn't shock me if they put these seats up. A complete steal for £20 IMO!

I've also just booked a £20 front row seat for a repeat visit following your recommendation. The first date with good availability there is currently Monday 20 April though there are a few before then towards the sides. |
