I'm really looking forward to seeing this, not seen the play before. However if it's anything like the film I guess it will feel pretty dated. The film is very much of it's era, pretty much all the characters are either self hating depressives, bitchy queens or both. Not like us gays these days at all  |

Saw this yesterday and really enjoyed it. The play is definitely of it's time but apart from a bit of gasp inducing racist language it still stands up really well with some fantastic one-liners. The first three quarters is hilariously funny. It has an exceptionally strong cast with no weak links. Brilliantly tight ensemble playing and very tight direction, particularly for a preview.

I literally live 5 mins from this theatre but I'm so mad they don't offer discounted tickets for students, only for people over 65... Since when old people have more money than young ones?
However I think I'll end up watching it, especially if it's a seminal piece of LGBT theatre.

I honestly thought, couldileaveyou, that the Park did do deals for younger people and though I'm glad of any reduction for pensioners, they have gradually (and without any announcement) been whittling away at the latter by raising the concession price but not the others; limiting the choice of seats and performances, etc; however, they definitely do discounts for locals so maybe look into that if you really live that nearby? |

They do discounts on Tuesdays for locals and Wednesdays for those of lower income. Whether it's dated or not, it's a seminal gay play and no doubt Mark Gatiss' involvement has raised it's profile massively. And good on him for doing it as well. He's a gay role model that we should all be justly proud of. |

I thought this was pretty generic and cliched, with some inconsistent acting.
I might be biased because Park has hands down the rudest, most unhelpful staff I've ever encountered.

I couldn't disagree with you more. I was there on 24 September to see the Roundabout and the staff were great. The playtext (programme) seller brought one to me instead of me having to go to him. And the young lady behind the bar was serving me the minute I reached the counter. Seeing The Boys on 22 October and, having seen it before I know it's dated, but it's a seminal gay play that's still very funny. |

I used to live in Finsbury Park and visited to have a look round and eat in the café. They wouldn't let me use the lavvy because they're upstairs and the upstairs area is ticket holders only. Fair if bad planning. But the attitude was so nasty, they treated me like I was scum for not having a ticket and visiting only to use the café. The irony is I would have bought a ticket if they ever answered the box office phone.
There are complaints on TripAdvisor and on their FB and Twitter pages about people not being able to contact the box office and being treated rudely. |

I have honestly never heard of non-ticket-holders being unable to use any of the facilities and in fact the theatre appears positively to encourage non-patrons to come for the cafe, meetings, etc - presumably to make better use of the resources throughout the day and to raise income.
I suppose it's conceivable that they might limit access at very busy times but I have never been challenged or asked for my ticket - though not being remotely local, I do only go there if actually attending a play.
So far as the Box Office is concerned, I do find it difficult now to get an answer but I only ring to ask for running times because they will not put them on their website despite being asked often enough. They don't even answer questions on Twitter, which is crazy, as you can see they are not too busy to tweet themselves, and providing info such as running times would probably result in more bookings.
So all in all, could do better but they probably simply don't have the resources to cover everything properly, and great as it would be if they did, if something does have to take priority, I'm glad it seems to be the productions themselves.

They've never checked my tickets when I used the loo  Also they answered my email. helped me to solve my ticket questions via mail and send me the new directions to their theatre on twitter. Either I am luckier then you all or they are just understaffed and sometimes not capable to multitask |

That's illegal anyway. If you're providing food and drink you have to have toilet and hand washing facilities which must be "readily accessible" to customers. |

For certain events they close the auditorium and the whole upper level to the public. I don't know why they keep the downstairs bar open during those events, especially if the toilets are upstairs. The are chronically understaffed. I don't know what the ratio of paid staff to volunteers is. |

Mostly 4 star reviews which seem fair. Odd how they've all mentioned how dated they feel it is; I was surprised at how relevant I thought it was!

In case anybody still needs tickets for this show I am selling a pair of great seats on the Noticeboard. Guttingly I can't make it as I will be away with work that night so just looking for somebody else to take the tickets and enjoy the show.
