Bloody ages! Although it's streaming in US next week so probably a good chance of an illegal copy 😆
Of course I'm not encouraging such behaviour.

Streaming on Broadway HD as of yesterday.
Please don't illegally download it, but if you happen to have a computer in the US and a paid subscription, you can stream it.

{Spoiler - click to view}Or, you know, if you can make your computer look like it's in the US and use the, totally legal, free trial. It's amazingly filmed, even though I was not a fan of Killian's performance, they did a great work and I hope many other musicals will follow.

Great recording. Killian does seem a bit off in this though, especially compared to seeing him do it live so many times. Maybe the beard changes my perception of his facial expressions.
I really missed this show!

I really missed this show! Neither him nor Matt had masses of rehearsal time for this, and he was doing this with his head full of Les Mis, so it's no surprise that it wasn't as good in comparison to when he was in the show full time.

What pisses me off is the fact that they turned off Oliver who was doing the part in the moment. And who could (and would) be better This. Even based on the cast recording, Oliver is a million times better. And since this was mostly aimed at the US market I don't think bringing back Killian/Matt makes any difference.

I never saw Oliver, as I didn't like him in Guys and Dolls. Was he actually better than Killian in the original cast? I loved Killian

He managed to find new touches to add to the part “inheriting” it after 2 strong performers. I can’t say I dislike Killian but I preferred his covers both in Memphis and in Kinky Boots. And both leads who got the part after him, in my opinion, acted and sang it better. So I don’t see any purpose of returning him for filming, especially as Killian had to keep his Valjean looks and beard and didn’t look like Charlie anymore. Haven’t seen the screening yet but knowing Killian is off key there makes me sad. I may not be a fan of his acting choices but he was supposed to at least sing the part

I haven’t seen the recording yet but on the subject, I wish Jordan Fox had been given the chance as lead and had been filmed. He was really excellent on my first trip to KB.

Possibly because it makes Charlie seem so much older with the beard.

He doesn't look right with the beard, Charlie is supposed to be I guess mid 20s? And he looks too old.

For me, David Hunter, Joel Harper Jackson and Jonathan Carlton were my favourite Charlies because I could believe that all three were naive young men just out of uni and with no real life experience, who had been thrust into an impossibly difficult situation (taking over the factory), and that's what made the character so endearing. I saw Killian on the first day of his 3 day return and thought he acted the role brilliantly and sang it really well too, but I just didn't feel as much sympathy to him as I did to the others bc he gave off an air of experience (maybe it was the JVJ beard?) which was at odds with what the story told us about Charlie.
That being said, I am SUPER excited to see the film at some point. So brilliant that we get to keep a lasting memory of this production.

Did nobody venture to the cinema to see this today?
Full house in Gateshead and a very appreciative audience.
I had forgotten how great this show and cast are. It was such a treat to watch this again.

I saw this last night - cinema was about busy. I thought this captured the show well. Matt Henry is a brilliant Lola and I am so pleased his performance has been captured on film. I liked Simon, who was Lola at the time of filming, but Matt is in a different league. I also really enjoyed Killian and Sean. Natalie was quite good as Lauren, but I felt she threw away some of the comedic lines Lauren has, and just not funny in other comedic moments.

Is this due for DVD release, does anyone know? It's a BroadwayHD production, which probably means no. They want you to stream it through their site.

Absolute joy to see this last night (Vue at the O2 Finchley Road). Not many people in but appreciative laughter. The first 5-10 minutes my head was reeling from the different camera shots, just felt so weird, but finally brain kicked into gear and I loved seeing some of the close up shots. It was fabulous to hear those songs again, what a treat this was in the West End.
I saw the very first preview of this, with Cyndi Lauper in a box and clearly delighted at the reactions of the audience throughout. I went many times, including Killian's last night, Matt's last night, and the final taping. Goosebumps with "Not My Father's Son". Joyous. May go again on Sunday!

I also enjoyed this at the cinema last night. I thought the end of Act 1 didn't look as impressive on screen as it does live, and the camera angle was a bit odd in the first meeting between Lola and Don so we didn't see exactly why the theatre audience were laughing (unless I missed something!)

I saw it last night too and loved it! Matt is just incredible as Lola and has always been a firm favourite. I do agree with greeny11 that Natalie threw away some of Lauren's comedic lines and I did felt she played it too over the top for "History of Wrong Guys". I do miss the show so was a nice treat seeing it at the cinema.
