I heard that Dear Evan Hansen were looking at the Adelphi, but I think Kinky Boots deserves to stay for another year or two, or it could maybe downsize to a smaller theatre? I bet Really Useful / Nederlander would want Dear Evan Hansen because of how much hype it had on Broadway, but if there is any show I want at the Adelphi it's Waitress. The Adelphi is way too big for Evan (and Waitress would struggle with that number of seats). As others have said if the show keeps doing healthy business it will keep running until it is no longer worthwhile. Could always have a return of Me and My Girl from Chichester.... Anastasia, Hello, Dolly! But it's the sort of venue that needs a big show.

The Adelphi is one of a very few number of theatres where I’m quite happy to sit in the upper circle, as long as I’m relatively central. The view is great especially for the price

I wouldn't be surprised if Mean Girls should that have staying power on Broadway, eyes the Adelphi for its potential West End transfer.

Saw this for the second time last night. The theatre was full and the cast really are in excellent shape, to echo what some have said on here recently. The energy of the ensemble and Angels is incredible, particularly in the second half of a two-show day.
Charlie Price was a role made for David Hunter who acts it SO well from start to finish, while he also chucked in some great little riffs and sang bits of the score in ways I'd not heard before. His two songs are definite highlights. Momar Diagne was on for Lola and his portrayal is interesting... the (South African?) accent he has comes through occasionally and sounds a bit peculiar but it certainly adds to his unique take on the part. He isn't the most consistent, vocally or acting-wise, but has some great moments nonetheless - Not My Father's Son was delicate and he also nailed the money note in Hold Me In Your Heart. Oh plus a massive shout out to Suzie McAdam on as Lauren, who is so naturally funny without ever forcing anything, and has the cleanest vocal tone you could possibly want.

Kinky Boots rocked tonight and the crowd was very responsive. 😀 I'm happy I got the chance to see David Hunter as Charlie again. I saw a new Lola and boy was Momar fierce! Loved her. Big standing ovation at the end. Such a great time!

As long as you're in the queue they'll normally offer you other seats for £20 once they've sold the 11 on front row, it's never guaranteed but I've personally never known anyone not to pick up a £20 seat. I saw the show on both Monday and Wednesday this week, Momar has improved so much and really grown into the role of Lola since the last time I saw him (back at the start of Jan), definitely recommend going to see him next week if you can.

Two and a half years into its West End run, Kinky Boots celebrates five years on Broadway next week; the sixth longest-running show currently running on Broadway (behind Phantom, Chicago, Lion King, Wicked and Book of Mormon) and the thirty-second longest-running Broadway show ever! Who woulda thought?!

Last night was my third visit to Kinky and my first time since the cast change. Reading some of the comments on here from Momar’s early outings did make me wonder how I would take him as Lola, but I was pleasantly surprised. As more recent reports suggest, I found him extremely charming in the role, and in spite of his tall stature he really showcases the gentleness of the character. Perhaps his voice isn’t quite there in a couple of the numbers, but he was my third Lola and he stands well next to Matt Henry & Calum Francis.
I first saw David Hunter ten years ago as the frontman for his group Reemer when they supported The Feeling in Nottingham, and to watch him now, as Charlie was wonderful. The show goes from strength to strength it seems, and as a student at the University of Northampton I feel in some ways connected to the story.
I’d love to see this survive in the WE for a while longer, and would love to see Simon and Jordan in the title roles next.

Also, why are tours of musicals more frequent (ie more than 1 tour in a few years) than shows in th UK.? The US is such a completely different market. We get tour stops that are 20 miles apart, often for more than a week. The US get tour stops that are several hundred miles apart and, unless you're a Mormon or Hamilton, are never going to go over a week. There are plenty of people who will struggle to get a show within a four hour drive of them, other than perhaps a local amateur group. Let's face it, unless you're in a big city, you won't get a first tour. If you're in a small city, you might be lucky and have the non-equity (cheap) version of the tour pass by for night or two when the show buzz has died down. Even the big cities don't have shows in them every week like we would in the UK. They might get five or six touring shows, one week a month each during the season, with the theatre booked for one nighters and corporate events in between. All this does mean that there's scope for shows to tour more than once and rarely his the same market twice. But we're still much better served for live entertainment being in the UK. (I remember being in New York one year and caught the train to Philadelphia to catch a touring production - chatting to the people nearby, they were polite but clearly thought that journey was mad - most Americans wouldn't consider even going to the next city to catch a show)

I've heard talk from a reliable friend source we can expect five of the six main cast members to leave at cast change pending any last minute changes. He wouldn't give names though, but as said above we know David, Alan and Verity are leaving.

Expect as new Nicola as Bleu Woodward has been cast in Knights of the Rose.
So that's a new Charlie, Lauren, Don and Nicola confirmed.

Surely the new cast announcement can't be far off? It's what just over 7 weeks until they start?

I remember rehearsals start on (or around) the 7th of May? Sounds like a good enough time to announce the new cast 🤔🤔

I hear that they're going the Mary Stuart route and two actors are sharing the two lead roles. They're going to start the show Cinderella style and bring on a boot. Whoever the boot fits will play Lola.

Yes rehearsals start at the beginning of May. Guess I'm just being impatient waiting for the announcement. Part of me feels they still haven't fully confirmed the cast yet (I know they hadn't 3 weeks ago) and that's why they can't officially announce it.

I'm just as impatient probably. Would really like to find out about the new cast sooner rather than later.

Does anybody think there’ll be any star casting for this?

Does anybody think there’ll be any star casting for this? From what I've heard there won't be for this forthcoming cast (for Charlie & Lola anyway) but there's potential for the tour and any future casts
