I also really enjoyed tonight. The singing was superb by the whole cast and especially the chorus from Arts Ed. I have seen Ramin perform once before in Love Never Dies and he was the main reason I went. I had listened to the OBC so was slightly familiar with the music. There are some beautiful songs in the show. I took a friend who had not heard of the musical, cast, or been to a concert performance of a musical before so I was a bit worried she might not like it. But she loved it. My only issue was with the sound. I was sitting about 12 rows back in the centre stalls and at the beginning I thought that the orchestra overpowered the singers. There were also quite a few missed mic cues but it seemed to get better as it went on. However you kind of expect it at concerts as there is so little rehearsal time on the day. All that said, it didn't spoil my enjoyment. And a 6pm start, brilliant! Meant I was home before it got dark.

Having seen it on Broadway in 2015, I thought it was a complete disaster and a confusing and boring one at that. I think only Ramin could have gotten me to revisit this show but boy am I glad I did. You can’t really judge anything besides the score in a concert like this one and I found a lot do the music very pretty and it’s something that (to my surprise), I think I’ll listen to again. Also, having seen “Guys and Dolls” again for the third time last night and then seeing Celinde tonight she’s quickly becoming someone I’ll try to see anywhere I can. Her voice is absolute perfection. But yeah - very happy I gave this one another chance tonight.

I thought the cast, orchestra and choir sounded fantastic tonight and was especially thrilled with Ramin and Celinde. Liked a few of the songs, but found it rather dull. Needed an upbeat number or two to give some variation. Also, thought some of the plot points were confusing but that could just be due to the concert staging and narration being limited. And as mentioned above, sometimes the orchestra overpowered the vocals but understand due to the brief rehearsal process. Glad I went, but wouldn't go to see this again.

I also found the plot very confusing at the start and at one point gave up and just enjoyed the music. Got easier to follow later on. Did I miss it or did the Narrator not say how Dr Zhivago died?

No, the narrator didn’t say. And if you thought the concert was confusing, the actual show was even more so.

I had a very enjoyable evening last night. Agree with all previous comments re sound, and I'm seeing other similar comments on social media.
My notes from seeing this at the Cadogan were performers were excellent, music good, book needed work. Honestly, if you didn't know the story from the book or the film, I don't know how you'd understand what the heck was going on, even with the Narrator at the side covering the main plotline.
For me it was all about watching Ramin, who performed so well last night. Love to see an orchestra, the ARTSED performers, Nadim Naaman!! Haven't seen him in anything for an age.
(and a big shout-out to the 6pm start from me too ... gives time for drinks before/after).

Forgot to post last week but, belatedly, I really enjoyed this.
Have to admit, as someone not especially familiar with the story, the plot was very confusing at times. But the score was absolutely delicious.
Ramin and Celinde absolutely shone. Beautifully staged concert and I’d be intrigued to see what a full production looks and sounds like.
Four stars.

Do we think that these concerts may lead to a full production? I would really love to see this, but couldn’t go to either concert. Give me a new production of THE SECRET GARDEN too whilst we’re at it!
