The queues trying to get in were a pain - then as I was finally going in to the auditorium I realised they'd given me someone else's ticket as well as mine so I had to head back down to the box office. Fortunately I was there in enough time to do so - I hope the ticket made its way to its correct owner in the end. Oh, I wonder if they were having problems earlier? Just as the choir struck up this afternoon, a lady scuttled all along the front row, asked a lady in the row behind a question, then scuttled halfway along the front row again. FOH noticed there was a problem and walked all the way to the front of the stalls to help. By that time Trinity Laban were trilling away pretty loudly, so the poor lady felt compelled to shout at FOH man: “Somebody’s sitting in my seat!” The pair of them then tried to move a group of people a few rows further back, but they seemed adamant they were in the right spot. Goodness knows what happened after that, because I realised I’d missed the entire scene-setting few minutes and thought I should probably be paying more attention to what was happening on stage! I think I can add a bit to this. I saw the lady too, and wondered what was going on, as I hadn't heard any of the exchanges. It turned out she had a ticket for Row A (which I was in), so presumably she thought A was the front row. It wasn't. The front row was AA. She then started to climb along everyone in my row, but turned back after a couple of people, as her ticket was for the other end. She finally found her seat. It was a bit distracting! I did manage to get a programme, but feel somewhat guilty now. I had lost my ticket, so had to visit the box office to obtain a replacement. There were only a few people in front of me, and then I was able to go straight into the foyer/bar area. I noticed people had programmes, asked where they could be purchased and was pointed in the direction of the desk - and a queue leading outside. As I had my ticket in hand, I went up to the desk, money in hand, and was sold a programme straight away. Deepest apologies if I have deprived anyone of a programme! All that apart, I loved Dr Zhivago. All performances were good, but stand out for me was Charlie McCullagh as Pasha - I wasn't familiar with him, and hope to see him in more soon. |

The composer and lyricist came on stage and said a few words each after the evening performance, which was nice.
Now I have seen the same show twice in the front stalls and front gallery, I can say I much prefer the latter.
I hope someone will bring this musical to the West End. It deserves to be seen in a fully-staged version and London deserves to have this musical!

Really disappointed I couldn’t get a program this afternoon. Bit stupid not selling people them when they had the boxes of programs under the desk. Hope no one wants them this evening and they are left with loads they can’t sell! That is stupid. They should have kept selling them whle there were buyers. Great show though! I got a signed programme this evening with my premium ticket. It is very high quality but was on sale for a whopping £15 tonight and not worth more than half of that. Surprised they sold so quickly this afternoon. Wonderful show though. I'm disappointed it wasn't more successful in the USA ; several very strong musical numbers and a decent storyline. Deserves a fully staged West end run. |

Wow the reactions on here really surprised me. It only lasted 3 weeks on Broadway. Big hype back then and then a flop.

Yup I failed to get a programme too. I thought the music was played very well although I must admit waking up this morning, the only tube I remember is Watch the Moon... It was an enjoyable evening and got a full standing ovation although I did get a bit frustrated with the narrator after a while. Ramin and Celinde were both astounding and there was a massive crowd outside stage door afterwards. Sadly neither Celinde or Ramin came out but Celinde replies to my Instagram message which was nice aha

I really hope this does get a more permanent London residence as I just can't stop thinking about it! As someone else said it wasn't without error, but it sounds like it was pulled together very quickly. The quality of the performances was excellent though and it's always a treat to see/hear Ramin.

The signed programmes were under the table when I showed my ticket and collected mine (included in the ticket price) but there were unsigned programmes on the table and the only price sign I saw was £15.
If they bumped the price up in the evening to avoid running out that's a bit naughty.
Another possibility is that £15 was the intended (extortionate) price and when it was realised that they had been selling programmes quickly for £8 someone decided to take them off sale till after the matinee.

I very definitely saw a sign at the back of the stalls in the afternoon that said programmes £8, which suggests that that was the intended price. Not that I got one, because they'd stopped selling them by the time I had the chance to investigate. I was delighted when I saw the tweet earlier about being able to order them until I saw the price. £18 total to get a programme because someone messed up with ordering enough? No thanks. |

I'd take a guess the programmes were supposed to be £8 (reasonable), and that they hadn't realised there would be such a demand at the matinee (saw on Twitter that they stopped selling the programmes at the matinee to ensure they had some for the evening performance) and upped the price to £15 - which certainly put me off. |

I'm listening to the OBC recording now as I am not familiar with the music. I can imagine Ramin and Celinde singing the score beautifully so just booked myself a couple of stalls seats. Plenty of availability and it's a long way off but I've got seats I want.

Came on here to see what the gossip was and, reading through, realise I'd seen this in 2019. And have simply no memory of it. Good grief, I know there's been "stuff" in the years since, but seriously, no memory of it at all. And I'm a big fan of Ramin ... I'll be there. Probably. I've made a note in my diary. |

Cheap tickets have just appeared on TodayTix for 24 hours apparently (although they always seem to play fast and loose with how long a 24 hour sale actually lasts!) Like yourself, I was waiting for a deal. As with Annie Get Your Gun, it seems the extortionate prices has been rightly putting people off. Just bagged myself a Grand Circle seat for £15. Who knows, if it still doesn’t sell well maybe I’ll even get bumped to a better view..? |

My first show of my theatre week binge and a lovely way to start it off with a trip to the Palladium this fine Sunday evening. Having never been to one of these kind of MT shows, I really didn’t know what to expect in terms of performance style but I have to say it was a wonderful concert with the score sung by an absolutely brilliant cast and performed by a great 18 piece orchestra along with the ARTSED Ensemble. The use of the narrator at the side was a great idea to help set the scenes for the different numbers for the audience.
It was my first time seeing Ramin on stage sing and what a voice this guy has. Absolutely stunning and when duetting with the equally brilliant Celinde Schoenmaker, it really was MT heaven. Having not heard the score before, it really was a treat to hear it, and I’ll certainly try and find the OBC to have a listen to later on. There really are some beautiful songs within that score.
Whilst on the whole I could hear the majority of the concert welll enough from my seat in the RC, I did find that during some numbers, particularly when the whole cast and choir were singing together, the orchestra did overpower the vocals meaning that some of the singing was lost for me.
Anyway, I came away happy seeing this show thanks to the TT offer and with a fantastic audience tonight it really was a wonderful evening of theatre.
