I've had an email that the Thursday performance has been cancelled too. So disappointing for them!

Saturday and Monday (I had a ticket for this performance - gutted I won’t be able to see this) also cancelled, now opening on Tuesday, 3 May.
Hope to finally catch it next time it comes back...

Anyone see this tonight? What's the new song?

I wonder if it would go in the Gillian Lynne theatre! Also, does anyone know if there's any merchandise for this show, or a cast album yet?

Anyone see this tonight? What's the new song? The new song is called Let’s Live It Up Tonight, replacing Let Me Die In Velvet in the mashup with the sea shanty.

Saw this on Thursday, preview and really wanted to like it after the reviews from Southwark playhouse. Sadly, not so and I'm blaming the venue where any involvement was totally lost in the barn environment of Riverside Studios. Only seats left were next to back row and the sightlines were atrocious, even with such steep stadium seating. Interestingly, very few around me were laughing, ignoring the group of friends (I guess) who shrieked at anything very loudly. The worst part of this is that it's almost unheard of that I'd leave at intermission, but I just couldn't get involved and got sick of bobbing and weaving to try and see anything. The upshot was that I got a wonderful photo of Hammersmith bridge at sunset.

After a lacklustre viewing of cock at the ambassadors theatre, I was hoping that my first day of my birthday London theatre binge would end on a more positive note with a trip to the Riverside studios based on the really positive posts from those who have already since operation mincemeat. Having never been to the studios before, it was great to have a look around the site where Dr Who and other classic BBC programmes where recorded back in the day. Making the most of the good weather this evening allowed a nice pre-show meal riverside and a nice photo of Hammersmith Bridge at dusk. Entetibf the studio foyer, I was seriously impressed with the quality of the security that the studios employ to deal with any bad behaviour of visitors - As for the show itself, this was a fantastic watch and an easy 5⭐️ rating along with a standing ovation at the end. A really fun watch over the 2.5hrs. A great cast has been assembled and really brought a lot of joy and laughter to proceeding both in the acting and those really witty musical numbers with a nice blend of musical styles. A nice nod to 007 at times along with a great quip about the film version. A nice glitzy finale along with a fitting tribute to Glyndwr Michael at the end rounded off a great evening of theatre and my first day in London.

Saw this for the second time last week, and first time at the new venue. We had Sean Carey who is currently appearing as Cholmondeley and also also Anouk Chalmers on as an understudy (glad they've managed to find a way to keep the show running with cast absences!).
Just as excellent as the first time, and my 70 something year old parents loved it too. I also specifically booked the seats directly in front of where Jak Malone stands to sing Dear Bill and it truly was magical - I can't imagine anyone else performing that number, he does it just so perfectly.
Really hope they can make a cast recording at some point!

This seems to be universally well received so what next? Could it tour in its current format or be expanded to fill a traditional theatre without losing its charm?

It could easily be upscaled into a space like the Criterion, but I don't think it should really go much bigger than that. It's a popular hit in the way Six was when it first started out, and that upsized in houses as the years went on (as much as I loathe the space it could go into the Arts and do really well in there too) They'd have the opportunity for a bigger budget so a bit more of a set - I think it wouldn't lose anything upscaling, only gain.

Saw this for the second time this afternoon. Can’t overstate what a fantastic production it is - both makes you laugh (a lot) and cry and is by far the most fresh and inventive musical on at the moment in London. Honestly could not recommend more….

Saw this tonight, it’s INCREDIBLE. The best new musical I’ve seen for a very long time, I can’t fault it at all. I hope it finds a new home, the writer told me that’s the only way we will get a cast recording too.
It’s got a month left, please go see it! I went in totally unaware of anything apart from the title and that it’s something to do with the war. The whole thing gave me Hamilton vibes with the songs, plus influences from loads of other shows, even Six 😅.

Booked tickets last night for a few weeks time. Literally 5 minutes from the office so been on the radar for a while. No seat reviews though so hopefully chosen right! Have requested seat plan add it to their site so we can start adding them.

The view was perfect, but it’s a really small studio with completely raked stealing. I guess if you are in the first 3 rows on the last couple of seats at each end it might be a bit sideways, but I don’t think there’s a bad seat anywhere. Edit: also, front row is floor level and you are about a metre away from the cast, so depends if you wanna be that close or not.

Yeah my friend didn't want to be too close so I went for L, middle section on the aisle.

Operation Mincemeat seems to be teasing an announcement on their socials, I assume a West End run somewhere?

Oh I do hope so - Heatwave related travel shenanigans meant I've worked form home (in Scotland) all week, and so missed my opportunity to see it this time round.

What an INCREDIBLE last show that was! There was no announcement or speech at the end so no news on a transfer or anything. Jak got a standing ovation after the roses war letter song, and the cast just seemed like they were having fun, knowing it was the last show and thought “f**k it!”.

The usual vibe of a closing performance of a run of this show is 'f*ck it'. It's always wonderful fun. The fact everyone was still fully dressed for the final bow is an improvement (or not, depending on how you look at it, I guess) over last time.

I watched the movie last night and enjoyed it enormously. What was the equivalent scene that opened act two of the show that impressed so many. Good to see the two Mister Darcy's together.
