From twitter it seems like there might be news soon to be incoming for this show! Hoping for another run, but could potentially be something more cast album related as I know a lot of people have been asking for that. On Facebook it says: “Join the Official Operation Mincemeat Mailing List by 9am tomorrow for exclusive access to priority tickets.” So I presume the announcement is another run/transfer/tour?

That's promising! The website also still lists the Southwark Playhouse cast so fingers crossed they're all sticking with the show, because they're wonderful.

Hopefully all five original cast members will return.
That is has been as successful as is fantastic but it also a clever piece of marketing give the imminent film being released under the same name.
Same name, same story (basically)- not a musical.

Same name, same story (basically)- not a musical. To me, I think the writing team (David, Natasha and Zoe) need to step away from this and get three performers in so they can focus on any changes that need to be made to this as it upscales. Jak and Claire are the two strongest performers in the piece, so that the essence of what it currently is can be carried on, but with a few slightly stronger performers than the writing team.

Natasha is my favourite part of the show! If she steps back from acting in it, it would be a huge mistake. They need a great Monty to make this work and she is perfect.

I think Claire has been cast in something else, but I can't remember whether it was a limited engagement thing or not.

Agreed - Natasha, Jak and Zoe are the strongest links for me.

Yep personally thought the show could do with a 30 minutes worth of cuts. And def have the creative now step back and put in stronger performances. I saw the last matinee at Southwark and it did come across as a little bit Cambridge Footlights and induldgent. Which was a shame as the potential is there for a strong show but could be even more physical in terms of staging. But hey what do I know right?

I'm probably wrong but the announcement could be a transfer to the Criterion or the Ambassadors later this year?

Transferring to Riverside Studios. Trying to click the link in the priority access email I received but the website must be being hammered as it won't load at all. No dates mentioned in the email

Thu 28th Apr - Sat 9th Jul 2022 but there appears to be a gap between 18 & 30 May inclusive. £35 standard with £25 concessions. Previews £25 for everyone.

Put it in the West End you cowards! It's not through lack of trying!

Cast seems to be staying the same, thankfully!
It is a shame this hasn't made it to the West End yet. It's a fantastic show and definitely belongs there. I do worry slightly it might burn itself out before it gets that far at this rate.

I suspect they simply cannot get a West End theatre at the moment as they're all booked up until the Autumn and even then there is likely dozen of shows lined up.

There was an interesting article somewhere from the producer of "pride and prejudice sort of" when it closed early at the Criterion. He said that although he could do cheaper tickets than the bigger shows normally do, because of COVID recovery all the big established shows were doing massive discounts such that he didn't have a price advantage anymore so then lost out to the much bigger established shows. I don't know how much of a factor it really was but if it is a factor that might also put producers off opening a "word of mouth show" in the west end at the moment.

Excited to finally see this!
I missed the priority tickets thing, does anyone know what days and times we're looking at? Especially matinee days? Just trying to plan this and other shows around a mid-May work trip!

It'll be interesting to see what the new song they've mentioned is, and whether it's an addition or a replacement.

I've just seen a preview of the non-singing film of the same name. It's not a patch on the musical, despite a strong British cast who try their best with a dreadful screenplay. The musical managed to include humour, pathos and poignancy; the movie fails.
There are some extra sub-plots added including some love triangles, which bare no relation to actual events. There is also the gratuitous inclusion of a scene where a male UK agent masturbates a male enemy agent in order to get matters back on track. I lost track of how this helped to be honest.
2.5 stars for the film.

One of the actors broke his collarbone but they've known that could cause problems for a little while now. I haven't heard anything yet about my booking on Thursday. Website is listing Thurs and Fri as sold out, but you can still book for Saturday? Weird.
Edit: email just received. Looks to be starting May 2nd now.
