I was there yesterday as well. It's not that its bad, I just didn't think it was good. I think they were looking to find a way to balance the romantic and spiritual with the occasional snarkiness. it all felt "off". There was one scenic/staging effect that I thought was terrific. The rest of the time I was just bored. ( There was however one slave that was nearly worth the price of admission). All things considered this is just an overblown mediocre musical.

14 weeks left of the run...are we assuming Hairspray will open at the Dominion end of January?

This is such a shame, as I still need to see it. I was hoping it was going to extend past January, as I was holding off still due to the pandemic. I may just need to book to see this now regardless. I adore the cast recording!

I'll be amazed if this even lasts until January to be honest, there are deals everywhere.

Also I've just booked closing night and am super happy I can make it as it is like my first totally free weekend from now!

Oh dear. The Dominion isn't doing very well at finding a long runner, are they? Shame they didn't get the Frozen contract.

I got tickets yesterday from TodayTix for £25 each (checked on Seatplan and the full price was £70). It was a 24 hour deal, but I notice it’s been extended for another 24 hours.

I did the same Never seen it before, not seen the film, don’t even know the songs except ‘that one’ which I’m not especially fond of (though have only ever heard it out of context) and have relatively low expectations . . . but it fills a matinee spot in my London trip and it seem unlikely that it will either be around much longer, or have much of a future life.

Peter, you sound just like me. I only know ‘the one’, and for that price it’s worth taking a punt. It’s one of many in our week in London at the end of the month.

Hate to be the person to ask this, but is there any chance this may extend into February? Finally doing my trip from Australia and won’t be in London till the 6th Feb.

Thanks Mark , I knew the closing date was announced, was hoping ticket sales might have been enough to push it a month longer . Thanks for the kind reply

Is this show being fully sold, or is it being sold socially-distanced? On so many of the dates, the seatplan on TodayTix shows lots of pairs of seats available, separated by other pairs that are unavailable.

Probably because of the number of covid cases that they had for a while. Admittedly, this is my own speculation, but it would make sense. Don't know what the theatre's plans are for selling fully again.

I think they just started off selling every show socially distanced when they opened because they knew it was possible/likely that lifting capacity restrictions would be delayed, then once restrictions were lifted they sold at full capacity so the seats you’re seeing separated by other seats are the ones that would have been left empty in a SD auditorium

Promo code RETURN2EGYPT for £25 pricing, all performances Monday to Thursday until Thursday 16 December, price levels 1-4, current prices up to £75. Must be booked by Monday 14 November 10am.
I received this as a previous attender, but the code was accepted before I logged in so I don't think it's exclusive or limited to rebookings.

Try going through the booking process and see if a box for a code appears when you view the basket. The email reads " Use promo code RETURN2EGYPT at checkout after selecting your seat(s) "

Although, not sure it matters - there are still Rush tickets available for this evening. Row G in the stalls, even.

Apologies.
I suspect the offer email is being sent to all previous bookers and as you say it's the most available show on Rush anyway.

I saw this for this first time yesterday and I have to agree with some criticism regarding pacing. I feel like not much happened in the first act but that a lot happened at the same time (that probably makes no sense.) I haven’t seen the film since I was in primary school so I am unsure if this is what the movie is like too. I just feel like one moment Tzipporah is fighting with Moses and the next they are dancing then the next he is calling her his wife? It all seemed to happen with zero explanation.
Act 2 was definitely stronger but the pacing was also super strange. It felt like it was over so quickly and everything happened in the blink of an eye.
I LOVED the choreography and there were some great performances (Christine Allado and Liam Tamne in particular were standouts for me.) I also loved the staging at the end of the show, I thought it was brilliant. When You Believe was goosebumps galore.
Overall it was a good show but definitely has it’s issues. I would give it a 3.5.

You just have to carry on through the screens and a discount code box comes up. This was by going in through the nederlander website.
